''Shrek'' is a 2001 American animated fantasy comedy film directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, and written by Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Joe Stillman, and Roger S. H. Schulman, loosely based on the 1990 children's picture book '' Shrek!'' by William Steig. It is the first installment in the ''Shrek'' film series. The film stars Mike Myers as the voice of the titular character, with Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and John Lithgow in supporting roles. In the film, an embittered ogre named Shrek (Myers) finds his home in the swamp overrun by fairy tale creatures banished by the obsessive ruler Lord Farquaad (Lithgow). Markook bread (), also known as ''khubz ruqaq'' (), ''shrak'' (), ''khubz rqeeq'' (), ''mashrooh'' (), and saj bread (), is a kind of Middle Eastern unleavened flatbread common in the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula. It is baked on a convex metal griddle (a saj) or in a '' tannour''. ''Markook shrak'' is a type of thin bread. The dough is unleavened and usually made with only flour, water, and salt, and after being rested and divided into round portions, flattened and spread across a round cushion until it is thin then flipped onto the saj. It is often folded and put in bags before being sold. It is commonly compared to pita bread, also found in Middle Eastern cuisine, although it is much larger and thinner. Lodewicus Theodorus "Louis" Oosthuizen (; born 1982) is a South African professional golfer who won the 2010 Open Championship. He has finished runner-up in all four major championships: the 2012 Masters Tournament, the 2015 and 2021 U.S. Open, the 2015 Open Championship, and the PGA Championship in 2017 and 2021. Shrek (sheep)
Shrek (27 November 1994– 6 June 2011) was a Merino wether, castrated male sheep belonging to Bendigo Station, a sheep station near Tarras, New Zealand. He gained international fame in 2004, after he avoided being caught and shorn for six years. Merinos are normally shorn annually, but Shrek apparently hid in caves, avoiding muster. He was named after the fictional ogre in books and films of the same name. Life After finally being caught on 15 April 2004, he was shorn by a professional in 20 minutes on 28 April. The shearing was broadcast on national television in New Zealand. His fleece contained enough wool to make 20 large men's suits, weighing 27kg (60lb)– an average Merino fleece weighs around 4.5kg (10lb), with exceptional weights up to around 15kg (33lb). ''Shrek'' is a 1994 album by Marc Ribot recorded and released by the Japanese Avant label in 1994. Recording The album was recorded in New York City at Low Blood Studios. Ribot stated "I made ''Shrek'', which was finally a hit. It was the most purely compositional record I had made. It’s quasi-unlistenable. ... I never knew how many ''Shrek'' fans there were till I did Cubanos. They’re coming out of the woodwork."
