Shredder (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
The Shredder (Oroku Saki, Japanese: 小禄咲) is a supervillain and the main antagonist of the ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' franchise. The character was created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, and first appeared in the comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Mirage Studios), ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' #1 in May 1984. The Shredder is depicted as the ruthless leader of a criminal organization known as the Foot Clan, and serves as the archenemy of the Turtles and Splinter (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Splinter. In 2009, The Shredder was ranked as IGN's 39th-greatest comic book villain of all time. Design Shredder's physical appearance remains fairly consistent in most incarnations of the character. Kevin Eastman
Kevin Brooks Eastman (born May 30, 1962) is an American comic book artist and writer best known for co-creating the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Peter Laird. Eastman was also formerly the editor and publisher of the magazine '' Heavy Metal''. Early life and career Eastman was born in Springvale, ME. He attended Westbrook High School in Westbrook, Maine, with comic book illustrator Steve Lavigne. He grew up a comic book fan, with Jack Kirby as his idol and ''Kamandi'' as his favorite title of his. In 1983 he worked in a restaurant while he searched for publishers for his comics. He met a waitress who was attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst and followed her to Northampton, Massachusetts. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 TV Series)
''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' (initially known as ''Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles'' in some European countries) is an American animated television series produced by Fred Wolf Films, and based on the comic book characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The pilot was shown during the week of December 14, 1987 in syndication as a five-part miniseries, and the show began its full-time run on October 1, 1988. The series ran until November 2, 1996, when it aired its final episode. Set in New York City, the series follows the adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their allies as they battle the Shredder, Krang, and numerous other villains and criminals.
