Shot In The Dark (Ozzy Osbourne Song)
"Shot in the Dark" is a song recorded and performed most famously by heavy metal solo artist Ozzy Osbourne. It is the ninth and final track on his 1986 album ''The Ultimate Sin''. A top-ten hit on mainstream rock radio, the song also became his first single to chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number 68. The official music video for the song was directed by Andy Morahan. Composition history "Shot in the Dark" was originally composed sometime around 1983 by members of Wildlife, a band featuring Steve Overland, Chris Overland, Simon Kirke of Bad Company, keyboardist Mark Booty, and future Ozzy Osbourne bassist Phil Soussan. Wildlife recorded a demo version of the song that was never officially released. When Soussan joined Ozzy Osbourne's band a couple of years later, he and Osbourne then reworked the song for Ozzy Osbourne's recording and release in early 1986. As a result, there has been much debate over the proper authorship of the song. Although the writing is c ...

Ozzy Osbourne
John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which period he adopted the nickname "Prince of Darkness". Born and raised in Birmingham, Osbourne became a founding member of Black Sabbath in 1967, and sang on every album from their debut in 1970 to '' Never Say Die!'' in 1978. The band was highly influential on the development of heavy metal music, in particular their critically acclaimed releases ''Paranoid'', '' Master of Reality'' and ''Sabbath Bloody Sabbath''. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to alcohol and drug problems, but went on to have a successful solo career, releasing 13 studio albums, the first seven of which received multi-platinum certifications in the US. Osbourne has since reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions. He rejoined in 1997 and helped record the gro ...

Follow The Reaper
''Follow the Reaper'' is the third studio album by Finnish melodic death metal band Children of Bodom, released in Finland in October 2000 by Spinefarm Records and in 2001 internationally by Nuclear Blast Records. The album is the first to use a power metal-influenced sound in addition to the symphonic metal elements from previous albums—present mainly in the keyboards, vocals, and fast tempos. Many songs on the album became live setlist favorites, such as "Everytime I Die", "Hate Me!", and the title track. The song "Mask of Sanity" is a remake of the song "Talking of the Trees" from their early demo ''Shining'' (released as ''IneartheD''). ''Follow the Reaper'' was recorded and mixed at Peter Tägtgren's Abyss studio in Sweden, instead of the Finnish Astia-studio from Anssi Kippo, in which they had recorded all of their previous releases, including the demos from ''IneartheD''. On this album, Children of Bodom used D standard tuning (D,G,C,F,A,D), which was also used on '' ...

Album-oriented Rock
Album-oriented rock (AOR, originally called album-oriented radio) is an FM radio format created in the United States in the 1970s that focuses on the full repertoire of rock albums and is currently associated with classic rock. Album-oriented radio was originally established by U.S. radio stations dedicated to playing album tracks by rock artists from the hard rock to progressive rock genres. In the mid-1970s, AOR was characterized by a layered, mellifluous sound and sophisticated production with considerable dependence on melodic hooks. Using research and formal programming to create an album rock format with greater commercial appeal, the AOR format achieved tremendous popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. From the early 1980s onward, the "album-oriented radio" term became normally used as the abbreviation of "album-oriented rock," meaning radio stations specialized in classic rock recorded during the late 1960s and 1970s. The term is also commonly conflated wi ...

Just Say Ozzy
''Just Say Ozzy'' is a live EP by Ozzy Osbourne. It was released on March 17, 1990 and was remastered on August 22, 1995. Overview The sleeve states that ''Just Say Ozzy'' was recorded at London's Brixton Academy in November 1989. However, no known dates correspond ( the tour ended in August 1989 in Moscow), and the music appears to have been re-recorded and mixed at Electric Lady Studios in New York with engineer Adam Yellin with the audience noise and some tracks kept from the original live recording. ''Just Say Ozzy'' was remastered in 1995 along with the rest of the singer's catalog. However, the EP —along with ''Speak Of The Devil'', ''The Ultimate Sin'' and '' Live & Loud'' —has since been deleted from Ozzy's catalog and was not remastered and reissued with the rest of Ozzy's catalog in 2002. This is mainly due to a continuing legal struggle with bassist/songwriter Phil Soussan over the song "Shot in the Dark". ''Just Say Ozzy'' peaked at number 58 on the ''Billboar ...
