The ''Shulchan Aruch HaRav'' (; also romanized ''Shulkhan Arukh HaRav'') is especially a record of prevailing halakha by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812), known during his lifetime as '' HaRav'' (Hebrew for "The Rabbi") and as the first Rebbe (Yiddish for "rabbi") of Chabad. The ''Tanya'' () is an early work of Hasidic philosophy, by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of Chabad Hasidism, first published in 1796. Its formal title is ''Likkutei Amarim'' (, Hebrew, "collection of statements") but is more commonly known by its first word (''tanya''), which in Aramaic means "it has been taught". Zalman is referring to a baraita in "Niddah" chapter 3 in the word’s first usage. Chabad, also known as Lubavitch, Habad and Chabad-Lubavitch (; ; ), is a dynasty in Hasidic Judaism. Chaim Schneur Zalman Schneersohn of Liadi (1814–1880) was a Hasidic rebbe in the town of Liadi. He was the first rebbe of the Liadi branch of Chabad. Rebbe in Liadi Rabbi Chaim Schneur Zalman was the son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (the third rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch), and became a rebbe in his own right for a number of Chabad Chasidim following his father's passing. After the passing of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (the third rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch), several of his sons independently assumed the role of rebbe. Shneur Zalman Fradkin
Shneur Zalman Fradkin of Lublin (; 1830–1902), also known as the Toras Chessed (after his main work; תורת חסד "Kindly teaching") or The Liader (after his place of birth), was a famous Chabad ''posek'' and '' gaon''. He was a disciple of the third Chabad-Lubavitch Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (also known as the ''Tzemach Tzedek''). Shneur Zalman Odze
Shneur Zalman Odze (born 3 March 1981) is an Orthodox Jewish rabbi and UK Independence Party (UKIP) politician. Political career Odze was elected as a Conservative Party councillor for the New River ward on Hackney London Borough Council in 2002. He resigned from the council in 2004 when he moved to Salford. He was a Conservative candidate in Bury council elections in 2004 and 2006 (Sedgley ward) and then in the Salford City Council elections in 2007, in Kersal ward which had until then been a safe Labour ward with Conservatives a distant third, where he lost by 34 votes (1.35%), 2008 and 2010 . He stood for UKIP in the 2012 and 2014 Salford City Council election. Odze was a UKIP candidate for the North West England in the European Election 2014. Zalman Shazar
Zalman Shazar (; November 24, 1885 – October 5, 1974) was an Israeli politician, author and poet. Shazar served as the president of Israel for two terms, from 1963 to 1973. Biography Shazar was born Shneur Zalman Rubashov to a Hasidic family of the Chabad-Lubavitch denomination in Mir, near Minsk, in the Russian Empire (today in Grodno Region, Belarus). His mother's family descended from Joel Sirkis. In his early years Shazar received a religious education. He remained involved with Chabad for the rest of his life, assisting Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn, the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe in founding the village of Kfar Chabad, and at his behest, allowed the religious community in Israel to set up their own educational system.
