Doron Shmueli
Doron Shmueli (; born 5 October 1954) is a former Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Likud between November 1998 and June 1999. Biography Shmueli attended Meir Shfeya agricultural high school, before gaining an LLB at university. Between 1974 and 1977 he was a member of the Golan Settlements Committee, before serving as treasurer and co-ordinator of Ein Vered moshav between 1977 and 1984. He has also served as treasurer of Eliad moshav. From 1984 until 1992 he owned a company importing and exporting agricultural supplies, before becoming director-general of Tzomet in 1992, a position he held until 1996. Between 1996 and 1998 he worked as chairman of the Citrus Fruit Marketing Board. In the 1996 Knesset elections he missed out on a seat, but entered the Knesset on 30 November 1998 as a replacement for Pini Badash, who following a new law, had to resign in order to remain head of Omer local council. Galit Shmueli () is a data scientist who works in Taiwan as Tsing Hua Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Service Science, National Tsing Hua University. She is the author of many textbooks in business statistics and is known for her work on information quality, and on clarifying the difference between explanations and predictions in statistical analyses. Education and career After first-year studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Shmueli graduated ''summa cum laude'' from the University of Haifa in 1994, with a bachelor's degree in statistics and psychology. She then moved to the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology for graduate study in the statistics program of the faculty of industrial engineering and management, earning a master's degree in 1997 and completing her Ph.D. in 2000. Shmuel Dovid "Shmueli" Ungar () is an American Hasidic singer, songwriter and entertainer in the contemporary Jewish religious music industry. He has released four albums, three of which charted on the ''Billboard'' World Music category. He also hosts a Yiddish-language podcast titled ShmueliCast, in which he hosts various Hasidic guests. Its YouTube channel has over 7,000 subscribers. Early life Ungar was born in 1990 in Kiryas Joel, New York, where he studied in the Satmar yeshiva. He continued to study at the Hitchin Yeshiva in London followed by a yeshiva in Monsey. He was orphaned from his father at age 14. Musical career Ungar began his career at the wedding of his sister, at the request of his grandfather, after which he continued to perform at weddings in Williamsburg. He was originally part of Zemiros Choir, after which he switched to Shira Choir, but eventually left the group to progress his career as a solo artist.
