The Shire of Swan Hill was a Local government in Australia, local government area in north-western Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia, along the Murray River. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1893 until 1995. From 1939 onwards, Swan Hill, Victoria, Swan Hill itself was managed by a separate entity; the City of Swan Hill. After a large-scale statewide amalgamation program by the Victoria State Government, Victorian Government in 1994–1995, they were reunited under the Rural City of Swan Hill. The Mallee is a sub-region of Loddon Mallee covering the most north-westerly part of Victoria (state), Victoria, Australia and is bounded by the South Australian and New South Wales borders. Road districts were established in the colony of Victoria, Australia, pursuant to legislation passed in 1853 and were an early form of local government in Victoria. The districts were outside towns, which were instead incorporated either as municipalities or boroughs. The road districts were created between 1853 and 1871. Boundary Bend is a town in the state of Victoria, Australia. It is near the junction of the Murray River and Murrumbidgee River. It is located about 50 kilometres east along the Murray Valley Highway from the twin towns of Robinvale in Victoria and Euston in New South Wales, about 90 km north of Swan Hill. At the , Boundary Bend and the surrounding area had a population of 132. The access to the junction of the two rivers is down a track off the highway.
