The Islamic Consultative Assembly (), also called the Iranian Parliament, the Iranian Majles (Arabicised spelling Majlis) or ICA, is the unicameral national legislative body of Iran. The parliament currently consists of 290 representatives, an increase from the previous 270 seats since the 2000 Iranian legislative election, 18 February 2000 election. Ali-Akbar Zargham (; born 24 February 1911; died 22 December 1976) was a military officer and held several cabinet posts in the cabinets of Manouchehr Eghbal and Jafar Sharif-Emami. Education Ali-Akbar Zargham was born in Tehran in 1911. He attended Nezam High School, which was a military high school created by Reza Shah. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1934, and eventually finished his military studies at the War University (now known as the National Defense University) in 1940. He became a major general in 1958 under Eghbal's premiership. Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani (; 11 July 1958 – 13 June 2025) was an Iranian nuclear scientist and politician who was head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran from 2011 to 2013. A principlist who also served in the Iranian Parliament, he was killed in an airstrike by Israel on 13 June 2025. He had previously been wounded in an assassination attempt in 2010.
