Charles Joseph "Chuck" Sheerin (April 17, 1909September 27, 1986) was an American professional baseball infielder. He played one season in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1936. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Fordham University. Sheerin played five seasons in the minor leagues, from 1933 to 1938. The teams he played on were: the York White Roses of the New York-Penn League (1933), the Atlanta Crackers of the Southern Association (1933–1934), the Tulsa Oilers of the Texas League (1935), the Hazelton Mountaineers of the New York–Penn League (1936), and the Toronto Maple Leafs of the International League (1938). In the minor leagues, he appeared in 503 games and hit .248 in 1,774 at-bats. Sheerin's best season came in 1934 when he hit .288 for the Atlanta Crackers in 295 at-bats. Gay Sheerin (born 1955/1956) is a former Gaelic footballer and manager. He played as a goalkeeper for the St Ronan's club and at senior level for the Roscommon county team. Career Sheerin played half-back as an under-16 player until he was assigned to be goalkeeper. His club, St Ronan's, kept him there. Afterwards, he was called into the county minor team, and there he was assigned permanently as a goalkeeper. A year later, he was assigned to be an outfielder with them, before resuming his former position of goalkeeper at inter-county level. Sheerin got into the senior inter-county team in the spring of 1977 for the National League. Roscommon won the Connacht Senior Football Championship (SFC) in 1977. By then, Sheerin was replaced with first choice goalkeeper Gerry O'Dowd. Sheerin earned the Number One Jersey by 1978, and he received his first of five Connacht SFC medals that same year. Joe Sheerin (born 8 November 1977 in Hammersmith, London) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Premier League for Chelsea and in the Football League for AFC Bournemouth. Career Sheerin began his career as a trainee with Chelsea, turning professional in August 1996. He made his league debut, as a last minute substitute for Gianfranco Zola in the 1–0 win away to Wimbledon on 22 April 1997. The game ended within a minute of his entering play, and it turned out to be his only appearance for Chelsea, giving him the record for the shortest Premier League career. He left Chelsea in February 2000, joining AFC Bournemouth, and scored a spectacular hooked goal on his home debut against Oldham Athletic. Jordyn Sheerin (born 18 August 1989) is a Scottish professional footballer and current assistant manager of Lowland League team Gala Fairydean Rovers.
