''She's a Machine!'' is the third studio album by Swedish electronic band Alice in Videoland, released in Sweden on 20 April 2008 by National Records. German pressings of the album include a bonus disc titled ''A Different Perspective'', which contains reworked versions of the songs on the original disc. The North American CD release includes a cover of the Guano Apes song "Open Your Eyes", as well as a single edit of "We Are Rebels" in which Maja Ivarsson's guest vocals have been removed and are instead sung by Toril Lindqvist. Alice In Videoland
Alice in Videoland was an electroclash band from Sweden. They were compared to bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Missing Persons and The Sounds, although they are more electronic. History Alice in Videoland describe themselves as a combination of minimal 80's synth pop music with an upbeat electronic body music (ebm) assault and a bitchy disco punk female singer. Alice in Videoland was formed in 2002 by singer Toril Lindqvist and former band member Carl Lundgren. The band gained a massive response on their very first demo with the original idea, which they still try to adhere to, of combining edgy synth-basses, ebm and electro with punk rock, and placing the edgy voice and melodies of Toril on top to create a unique style. Electroclash (also known as synthcore, retro-electro, tech-pop, nouveau disco, and the new new wave) is a genre of music that fuses 1980s electro, new wave and synth-pop with 1990s techno, retro-style electropop and electronic dance music. National Records was a record label that was started in New York City by Albert Green in 1945 and lasted until early 1951. Big Joe Turner was signed at the beginning and remained until 1947. Billy Eckstine was also a big seller for the label as were The Ravens. Eileen Barton had a hit with " If I Knew You Were Comin' I'd've Baked a Cake", which was No. 1 for 10 weeks. Working as A&R men were Lee Magid, Bob Shad, Jesse Stone and Herb Abramson. Abramson went to Jubilee and then co-founded Atlantic with Ahmet Ertegun. From the beginning Dick Thomas was their foremost country and western artist, best remembered for his "Sioux City Sue" (1945). In 1953, National began distribution arrangements with Jubilee Records. Guano Apes are a German rock band formed in 1994 in Göttingen. The band consists of Sandra Nasić (vocals), Henning Rümenapp (guitars, backing vocals), Stefan Ude (bass, backing vocals), and Dennis Poschwatta (drums, backing vocals). Maja Ivarsson
Maja Ivarsson (; born 2 October 1979) is a Swedes, Swedish singer and lead vocalist of the Swedish indie rock band The Sounds. Career The Sounds formed in 1998 in Helsingborg, by childhood friends guitarist and vocalist Felix Rodriguez and bassist Johan Bengtsson, who later invited drummer Fredrik Nilsson on board. Maja Ivarsson met the group in high school when the guitarist Felix Rodriguez ended up in the same class. Due to Maja singing at school and her striking appearance Felix then proceeded to invite Maja to join the group under the condition that she would have to sing. Although Maja wasn't keen on singing, she decided to join the band. The last and youngest member to join the band was Jesper Anderberg.
