Shane William James O'Connor (born 4 December 1985 from Dublin) is an Irish former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation events. Darts career O'Connor won the 2008 Irish Matchplay which earned him a place in the 2009 PDC World Darts Championship. He later reached the semi-finals of the Gleneagle Irish Masters, beating Jacko Barry 4-0 and Tony Eccles 5–0, eventually losing 5-4 to the eventual winner Michael van Gerwen. Michael van Gerwen (; born 25 April 1989) is a Dutch professional darts player. He is currently PDC Order of Merit, ranked number 3 in the world, having been number 1 from 2014 to 2021. He is also a three-time PDC World Darts Championship, PDC World Champion, having won the title in 2014 PDC World Darts Championship, 2014, 2017 PDC World Darts Championship, 2017 and 2019 PDC World Darts Championship, 2019. Scaffolding, also called scaffold or staging, is a temporary structure used to support a work crew and materials to aid in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, bridges and all other man-made structures. David "Dave" Fatum (born August 4, 1968, in Prince Rupert, British Columbia) is a Canadian- American professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. His nickname is The Scorpion. He is not a full-time professional and makes his living as a paramedic firefighter. Career Fatum's first major exposure came in the 2008 PDC US Open where he reached the semi finals losing to Colin Lloyd. In his third-round game, he defeated Davis Snider who had earlier beaten North American Darts champion Darin Young and former BDO world champion Steve Beaton. He then beat Stephen Panuncialman who beat Paul Lim in the third round. He then secured wins over Bill Davis and Chris Mason before eventually bowing out to Lloyd. Tony Eccles (born 8 January 1970) is an English former professional darts player. Nicknamed The Viper, he played in both the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Jason "Jacko" Barry (born February 13, 1975 in Dublin) is an Irish former professional darts player who competes in the Professional Darts Corporation tournaments. Career Barry won a place in the 2007 World Grand Prix, coming through a record-breaking field of 549 players at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin to qualify. He competed against World No. 16 Andy Jenkins in the first round and managed to push him to the limit, losing two sets to one. The 2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 16th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at Alexandra Palace in London from 19 December 2008 and 4 January 2009. John Part was the defending champion, having won the PDC World Championship for the second time in the previous year's final against Kirk Shepherd. However, he was eliminated by Bill Davis on the opening night. Shepherd's poor form in 2008 continued, as he was also eliminated in the first round, by Dutchman Jan van der Rassel.
