Shahin Chakladar
Shahin Chakladar is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Jessore-6 constituency winning the July 2020 by-election. Career Chaklader was accuse in an extortion case along with Sheikh Helal Uddin, Sheikh Helal. He was acquitted in the case while Sheikh Helal was found guilty in 2008. Chakladar has been the general secretary of Jessore district Awami League since 2004. He was the chairman of Jessore Sadar Upazila Parishad from 2009 to 2020. After the death of Ismat Ara Sadique, Ismat Ara Sadeq, Member of Parliament and former Minister of State for Public Administration on 21 January 2020, he was elected member of parliament in the by-election of Jessore-6 vacant seat on the nomination of Awami League on 14 July 2020. Boundaries The constituency encompasses Keshabpur Upazila. History The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973. Ismat Ara Sadique (1 September 1941 – 21 January 2020) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the state minister of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and Ministry of Public Administration. She was elected a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Jessore-6 constituency from 2014 until her death. Early life Sadique was born on 1 September 1941 in Shatani House in Bogra District. In 1956, she graduated from Bogra VM Girls school, and in 1958 from Holy Cross College, Dhaka. In 1960, she graduated from Eden College, Dhaka. Career Sadique joined the Bangladesh Awami League in 1992. She established a women's unit in Keshabpur in 1996. From 2009 to 2013 she served in the Bangladesh Women Welfare Council. The Jatiya Sangsad ( bn, জাতীয় সংসদ, lit=National Parliament, translit=Jatiyô Sôngsôd), often referred to simply as the ''Sangsad'' or JS and also known as the House of the Nation, is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats, including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called Member of Parliament, or MP. Sheikh Helal Uddin is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and member of parliament from Bagerhat-1. Early life Sheikh Helal was born on 1 January 1961. He studied up to H.S.C. or grade 12. His father Sheikh Naser was the younger brother of Sheikh Mujib, the first president of Bangladesh, who was killed in assassination of Sheikh Mujib. He is the cousin of Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Career Sheikh Helal's election rally in Mollahat Upazila in 2001 was bombed by members Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami.
