Seven Keys To Baldpate (1925 Film)
''Seven Keys to Baldpate'' is a lost film, lost 1925 American silent film, silent comedy mystery film based on the Seven Keys to Baldpate (novel), 1913 mystery novel by Earl Derr Biggers and Seven Keys to Baldpate (play), 1913 play by George M. Cohan. Previously made in Australia in 1916 and by Paramount in Seven Keys to Baldpate (1917 film), 1917, this version was produced by, and starred, Douglas MacLean and was directed by Fred C. Newmeyer (who later directed ''Our Gang'' shorts). Out of seven film adaptations of the story made between 1916 and 1983, this version is the only one that is now considered lost. The story was remade again later in 1929, 1935, 1946 (TV movie), and 1947. It was also remade in 1983 under the title ''House of the Long Shadows'', featuring John Carradine, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, and Christopher Lee. ''Seven Keys to Baldpate'' is a 1917 American silent mystery/thriller film produced by George M. Cohan and distributed by Artcraft Pictures, an affiliate of Paramount. The film is based on Cohan's 1913 play of the 1913 novel by Earl Derr Biggers. Cohan himself stars in this silent version along with Anna Q. Nilsson and Hedda Hopper, billed under her real name Elda Furry. One version of the play preceded this movie in Seven Keys to Baldpate (1916 film), 1916 and numerous versions followed in the succeeding decades such as the early RKO talkie starring Richard Dix (actor), Richard Dix. Betty Francisco (born Elizabeth Barton; September 26, 1900 – November 25, 1950) was an American silent-film actress, appearing primarily in supporting roles. William Orlamond
William Anderson Orlamond (1 August 1867 – 23 April 1957) was a Danish-American film actor. Orlamond appeared in more than 80 films between 1912 and 1938. Orlamond delivered his finest performance in director Victor Sjöström’s masterpiece '' The Wind'' (1928) in the supporting role of “Sourdough.” Early life Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, little is known about Orlamond’s antecedents except that he was born into a family of itinerant actors. He and his brother, Fritz, were included in the traveling acts virtually from infancy. Ned Sparks (born Edward Arthur Sparkman, November 19, 1883 – April 3, 1957) was a Canadian character actor of the American stage and screen. He was known for his deadpan expression and comically nasal, monotone delivery. Life and career Sparks was born in Guelph, Ontario, but moved to St. Thomas, Ontario, where he grew up. He left home at 16 and attempted prospecting in the Klondike Gold Rush. After running out of money, he began performing. Billed as a "Singer of Sweet Southern Songs" and costumed in a straw hat, short pants and bare feet, he won a spot as a singer on a travelling musical company's tour. Anders Randolf (December 18, 1875 – July 2, 1930) was a Danish-American actor in American films from 1913 to 1930. Early biography Randolf was born in Viborg, Denmark on December 18, 1875. Edith Roberts ( – August 20, 1935) was an American silent film actress from New York City. Career Born in New York City, Roberts was a child actress. Roberts performed in Vaudeville Theatre before she went to Hollywood, in 1916.
