Sethupathi
The Sethupathis are a Tamils, Tamil clan of the Maravar community native to the Ramanathapuram district, Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, India. They were from the 12th century considered independent kings in 16th century who ruled the Ramnad kingdom#Ramnad, Ramnad kingdom, also known as ''Maravar country''. The male rulers of Ramnathapuram also bore the title of "Sethupathi" or "protector of the bridge", the bridge here referring to the legendary sacred Rama's Bridge (Adam's Bridge), while female rulers bore the title "Nachiyar". Among the 72 poligars (feudal title of chieftains under Madurai Nayak dynasty, Nayaka rulers) of the region, the Sethupathi stood first. This special position was conferred not based upon the revenue that his kingdom generated but because of his military prowess. ''Sethupathi'' is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by S. U. Arun Kumar and produced by Vansan Movies. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Ramya Nambeesan. It revolves around a police officer whose reputation suffers when a young suspect is severely injured in his custody and threats from his enemies increase. The film was released worldwide on 19 February 2016 and became a box office hit. It was remade in Telugu as ''Jayadev'' (2017). Plot SI Subburaj, who is on night rounds in his C3 Station limits, is lured into a trap and burnt to death by a group of henchmen. Sethupathi Higher Secondary School
Sethupathi Higher Secondary School is a school situated in Madurai, Tamilnadu Tamil Nadu (; , TN) is the southernmost States and union territories of India, state of India. The school was founded by Baskara Sethupathi (1889–1903). It is one of the oldest schools in Madurai and celebrated its 125th year anniversary in 2014.
