The ''Serie de las Américas'' (English: "Series of the Americas") is an international professional baseball tournament contested by winter league professional baseball teams in Latin America. Envisioned as an alternative to the Caribbean Series, the first edition took place from January 24 to 30, 2025, in Nicaragua. Background The Caribbean Series is the longest-running international club baseball tournament in the Americas, but its participants have generally been limited to members of the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CPBC), an organization which includes the domestic winter leagues of Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. The Interamerican Series () was an international club professional baseball tournament that brought together independent and winter league teams in North America, South America and the Caribbean. Curaçao Professional Baseball League
The Curaçao Professional Baseball League (CPB; ), is a professional baseball circuit in Curaçao. It debuted in 2023 as the highest level of professional baseball in the country, supplanting the summer-time AA League. UnLike the AA League, CPB is not organized by the Curaçao Baseball Federation (FEBEKO) but does carry the certification and approval of the Federation. The inaugural edition of the tournament took place between December 3 to December 10, 2023, at Tio Daou Ballpark in Willemstad. Cuban National Series
The Cuban National Series (, or SNB) is a domestic baseball competition in Cuba. Formed after the dissolution of the Cuban League in the wake of the Cuban Revolution, the National Series is a part of the Cuban baseball league system. For most of its existence, the National Series has existed as the top-level winter league in Cuba. From 2022 to 2024, it operated as a summer league, with the top six National Series teams qualifying for the Cuban Elite League (LEB). Masaya () is the capital city of Masaya Department in Nicaragua. It is situated approximately 14 km west of Granada, Nicaragua, Granada and 31 km southeast of Managua.
