The Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, also referred to as Poland–Lithuania or the First Polish Republic (), was a federation, federative real union between the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, existing from 1569 to 1795. La Serenissima (musical Ensemble)
La Serenissima is a British early music/period instrument ensemble founded in 1994 by violinist Adrian Chandler, who has served as the group's director since its creation. Taking its name from ''La Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia'' (Italian for The Most Serene Republic of Venice), the ensemble specializes in the music of Venetian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741) and his contemporaries. Uniquely, the group's entire repertoire is edited from manuscript or contemporary sources, and it has been praised for its "glorious and all-too-rare ability to make one’s pulse race afresh with every new project" (''Gramophone''). Rondò Veneziano is an Italian chamber orchestra, specializing in Baroque music, playing original instruments, but incorporating a rock-style rhythm section of synthesizer, bass guitar and drums, led by ''Maestro'' Gian Piero Reverberi, who is also the principal composer of all of the original Rondò Veneziano pieces. The unusual addition of modern instruments, more suitable for jazz, combined with Reverberi's arrangements and original compositions, have resulted in lavish novel versions of classical works over the years. Eurogames is a publisher of board games, founded in 1984 as Jeux Rexton (Rexton Games) to publish the man-to-man miniature combat game, '' Cry Havoc'' and its expansions. In 1988 Duccio Vitale expanded the company to begin publishing more board games, starting with six games purchased from the bankrupt Italian gaming company, International Team. At this time the company became Eurogames. Eurogames itself was later purchased by Jeux Descartes, and they remained an imprint of that company until Descartes' bankruptcy. Jeux Descartes's assets were then purchased by French publisher Asmodée Éditions, who appears to be slowly merging some of Eurogames and Descartes games into their own line. In a brief interim period, Eurogames distribution rights were licensed to Cafe Games, who published the ''Mare Nostrum'' Mythology expansion in 2005 under a Eurogames/Cafe Games label. Scuderia Serenissima
Scuderia Serenissima or Scuderia SSS Republica di Venezia was an auto racing team funded by Giovanni Volpi and active in the early 1960s. The name "Serenissima" ("Most Serene") refers to one of the many definitions the city of Venice is known for, the Volpi family being originally from the area. Based in Sasso Marconi, close to Bologna, Serenissima mostly competed in Formula One and sports car racing. Originally the team had an engine supply agreement with Ferrari. When Volpi decided to financially support ATS, a Formula One team put together by Carlo Chiti, Giotto Bizzarrini, Romolo Tavoni and other breakaway Ferrari employees, Enzo Ferrari withdrew from the agreement. Mastellone Hermanos S.A. (mostly known for its trade name: La Serenísima) is an Argentine dairy company headquartered in the city of General Rodríguez in Buenos Aires Province. The company, founded by Antonino Mastellone in 1929, is partially owned by Grupo Arcor and Bagley, which purchased 25% of the firm in 2015. Starting as a small firm to produce cheese, the company expanded until becoming the leader in the Argentine dairy market and one of the largest companies in the country. The name ''La Serenísima'' was taken from an Italian aviation squadron that fought in the World War I.
