Cornelius Cole
Cornelius Cole (September 17, 1822 – November 3, 1924) was an American politician who served a single term in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican representing California from 1863 to 1865, and another term in the United States Senate from 1867 to 1873. Cole, who died at the age of , is the longest-lived U.S. Senator. Life He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1847 and was admitted to the New York bar. In his lifetime he practiced law in his adopted state of California first in San Francisco, then in Sacramento. After returning to California following his retirement from national politics he practiced in San Francisco again and finally in Los Angeles with his eldest son Willoughby. On March 8, 1856 Cole was one of the organizers of the California branch of the Republican Party, acting as secretary and writing the manifesto. Albert Cole (Massachusetts Politician)
Albert Cole (December 28, 1904 – November 14, 1966) was a Massachusetts politician who served in the Massachusetts State Senate and as the 40th and 42nd mayors of Lynn, Massachusetts. Cole was a Lynn Councillor-at-large from 1932 to 1935 and a member of the Massachusetts Senate from the 1st Essex Senatorial District from 1935 to 1940. Cole was elected Mayor of Lynn in 1939. He stepped down in 1943 to serve with the United States Army in World War II, he was succeeded in the last six months of his term by Councilor-at-large Arthur J. Frawley. He served on the staff of General Douglas MacArthur and was counsel during war crimes trials in Manila. He discharged the rank of Major. He was elected mayor again in 1945 while still serving in the Pacific. During his second tenure as mayor, Cole arranged for the construction of Lynn Memorial City Hall and Auditorium. Bill Cole (West Virginia Politician)
William Paul Cole III (born May 16, 1956) is an American businessman, politician and a former Republican member of the West Virginia Senate, representing the 6th district from 2013 to 2017. He was the President of the Senate (and thus first in line to the governorship) from 2015 to 2017. Cole also served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from May 28, 2010, to January 12, 2011, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Delegate John Shott. Cole was the Republican nominee for West Virginia Governor in 2016, choosing to run for the office rather than run for re-election to the state senate. He lost the election to Jim Justice and was succeeded by Mitch Carmichael as Senate President. Helen TeAta Gale Cole (July 13, 1922 – April 7, 2004) was an American politician who served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1979 to 1984, when she was first elected to the Oklahoma Senate. Cole returned to the state senate in 1991 and was succeeded by Kathleen Wilcoxson in 1997. Her son, Tom Cole, is the longest-serving Native American in the history of the United States Congress. Samuel Cole (December 15, 1856 – July 6, 1935) was an American politician who served as mayor of Beverly, Massachusetts, and was a member of the Massachusetts General Court and the Massachusetts Governor's Council. Early life Cole was born on December 15, 1856, in Rutland, Vermont. His family moved to Beverly during his youth. Outside of politics, Cole worked as a market gardner.
