Kenneth Selmon (born August 27, 1996) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 metres hurdles. He won the USA Outdoor Championship in 2018 and represented his country at the 2018 Athletics World Cup in London, where he won the 400 metres hurdles. Early life Selmon attended high school at Pace Academy in Atlanta, GA. He was a 7-time GHSA state champion in track and field and 3-time all-american in the 400 metres hurdles. While in high school, Selmon placed third at the 2013 World Youth Championships in the 400mH and won the 2014 National Championship. Collegiate career Selmon attended the University of North Carolina where he competed in indoor and outdoor track and field. Lee Roy Selmon (October 20, 1954 – September 4, 2011) was an American professional American football, football player who was a defensive end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football as a defensive tackle at the University of Oklahoma, the youngest of three brothers to play football there. He was a consensus 1975 College Football All-America Team, All-American in 1974 and 1975 and a member of consecutive College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national championship teams for the Oklahoma Sooners football, Oklahoma Sooners in 1974 and 1975. Selmon was selected by the expansion Buccaneers as the first overall pick in the 1976 NFL draft. He played in the NFL for nine seasons, from 1976 to 1984, all with the Buccaneers. Lucious Selmon (born March 15, 1951) is a collegiate and professional American football nose guard, and football coach. He began his coaching career in 1976 at his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, and has also coached on professional teams. From 1995 to 2002, he was a coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and has also coached privately. Born in Eufaula, Oklahoma, he had younger brothers Dewey Selmon and Lee Roy Selmon. In one period, all three were playing as defensive linemen at University of Oklahoma. Each of them became professional football players, with varying length of careers. Zac Selmon (born November 23, 1985) is the current athletic director for the Mississippi State University Bulldogs. Playing career Selmon was a tight end for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons football team from 2003 to 2007, starting four years after redshirting in 2003. The I-4/Selmon Expressway Connector (also known as the Crosstown Connector) is a toll road that between I-4, the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway (SR 618), and the Port of Tampa east of Ybor City in the city of Tampa, Florida. It primarily comprises four parallel one-way roadways west of 31st Street, continuously elevated over local streets, railroads, and vacant land, with a SunPass/toll-by-plate electronic toll gantry spanning the structure near the southern end. All movements were opened to traffic on January 6, 2014, and the direct connections to the Port of Tampa are signed as Truck Routes. The connector project is maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and was constructed by FDOT in coordination with Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) and the Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA). The Lee Roy Selmon Expressway is a all-electronic, limited access toll road in Hillsborough County, Florida, It connects the South Tampa neighborhood near MacDill Air Force Base with Downtown Tampa and the bedroom community of Brandon. The expressway was built in stages, opening between 1976 and 1987. An approximately 1.9 mile extension to the thoroughfare's western terminus opened to traffic on Monday, April 19, 2021. The expressway was supposed to be part of a multi-expressway system that failed in the 1970s due to heavy local opposition and financial burdens. The original designation for the expressway was State Road 449, but was switched to State Road 618, which remained a hidden designation until the early 2000s, when it began appearing on maps and in atlases.
