The Mexican Secretary of Tourism (, ''SECTUR'') is the government department in charge of the nation's tourism promotion and development. The Secretary is appointed by the President of the Republic and is a member of the federal executive cabinet. The department conducts the development policy for national tourist activity and promotes tourist development zones in conjunction with the states. Óscar Espinosa Villarreal
Óscar Espinosa Villarreal (born 23 November 1953) is a Mexicans, Mexican former politician who served as the List of mayors of Mexico City, Mayor of Mexico City from 1994 to 1997 and Mexico's Secretariat of Tourism, Secretary of Tourism from 1997 to 2000. In March 2000, he was accused of Embezzlement, embezzling 420 million Mexican peso, pesos from the city treasury by approving large financial transfers to an aide.
