Seaside Park, aka Seaside, was a cannery town on the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located near Langdale and Port Mellon on the west, mainland side of Thornbrough Channel, a side-channel of Howe Sound separating Gambier Island from the mainland Sunshine Coast. Seaside Park is a borough in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the New Brunswick– Lakewood, NJ Metropolitan Division, which is part of the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,436, a decrease of 143 (−9.1%) from the 2010 census count of 1,579, which in turn had reflected decline of 684 (−30.2%) from the 2,263 counted in the 2000 census. Seaside Park is situated on the Barnegat Peninsula, a long, narrow barrier peninsula that separates Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. History The first inhabitants of the barrier island were Lenape Native Americans who came in search of fish, crabs, clams, and scallops. They called this area "Seheyichbi," meaning land bordering the ocean. The Atlantic Ocean provided more than food; these people began using shells in place of wooden beads as their form of currency. Seaside Park (Connecticut)
Seaside Park, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is a long crescent-shaped park bordering Bridgeport Harbor, Long Island Sound, and Black Rock Harbor. The park lies within Bridgeport's South End neighborhood. History As Bridgeport rapidly grew in population in the 19th century, residents recognized the need for more public parks. In 1863, ''The Standard'' urged the creation of one or more public parks in the city and a movement began to create a park along Long Island Sound and Black Rock Harbor. By 1864, P. T. Barnum and other residents had donated approximately to create Seaside Park, gradually increased to about by 1884. In 1867, plans for a seawall and a driving track and walkway were made and drawings for the park were obtained from Frederick Law Olmsted whose firm completed the work. Seaside Park (Marblehead, Massachusetts)
Seaside Park is a coastal park located in Marblehead, Massachusetts. At a little over , it is the largest of Marblehead's four public parks, and includes an early 20th century grandstand overlooking the baseball field. At its eastern edge, it provides fine views of Marblehead Harbor and Marblehead Neck. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 8, 2011. Setting Seaside Park is located on the east side of Marblehead, occupying a parcel of land bounded on the west by Atlantic Avenue, the north by Chestnut Street, the east by Harbor View Lane and Ladys Cove, and on the south by Wyman Lane. Its principal points of access are from Atlantic Avenue, with the other roads lined by mainly residential properties.
