Scrubs (TV Series)
''Scrubs'' (stylized as ''[scrubs]'') is an American medical drama, medical sitcom created by Bill Lawrence (producer), Bill Lawrence that aired from October 2, 2001, to March 17, 2010, on NBC and later American Broadcasting Company, ABC. The series follows the lives of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital, which is a teaching hospital. The title is a play on scrubs (clothing), surgical scrubs and a term for a low-ranking person because at the beginning of the series, most of the main characters are medical interns. The series was noted for its fast-paced slapstick and surreal Vignette (literature), vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, J.D. (Scrubs), John "J.D." Scrubs (clothing)
Scrubs, sometimes called surgical scrubs or nursing scrubs, are the sanitary clothing worn by physicians, nurses, dentists and other workers involved in patient care. Originally designed for use by surgeons and other operating room personnel, who would put them on when sterilizing themselves, or "scrubbing in", before surgery, they are now worn by many hospital personnel. Their use has been extended outside hospitals as well, to work environments where clothing may come into contact with infectious agents (veterinarians, midwives, etc.). Scrubs are designed to be simple (with minimal places for contaminants to hide), easy to launder, and cheap to replace if damaged or stained irreparably. William Van Duzer Lawrence IV (born December 26, 1968) is an American television producer, screenwriter, and television director, director. ABC Signature was a production arm of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), which is a subsidiary of Disney Television Studios, a sub-division of the Disney Entertainment business segment and division of The Walt Disney Company. Doozer Productions
Doozer Productions, Inc. is the production company of Bill Lawrence, best known for making '' Scrubs''. The company's name is taken from a variant of Lawrence's middle name, Van Duzer. Their logo is depicted as a hand writing the company name, along with a boy wearing sunglasses for the double O's. The dialogue in the logo was provided by Lawrence's daughter, Charlotte.
