Scrubber
Scrubber systems (e.g. chemical scrubbers, gas scrubbers) are a diverse group of air pollution control devices that can be used to remove some particulates and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams. An early application of a carbon dioxide scrubber was in the submarine the ''Ictíneo I'', in 1859; a role for which they continue to be used today. Traditionally, the term "scrubber" has referred to pollution control devices that use liquid to wash unwanted pollutants from a gas stream. Recently, the term has also been used to describe systems that inject a dry reagent or slurry into a dirty exhaust stream to "wash out" acid gases. Scrubbers are one of the primary devices that control gaseous emissions, especially acid gases. Scrubber (brush)
A scrubber (), is a type of wide brush with a long shaft used for cleaning hard floors or surfaces. Unlike a broom, which has soft bristles to sweep dirt away, a scrubber has hard bristles for brushing. It may therefore be used wet, with water or cleaning fluids. Around the head of the brush there may also be a removable floorcloth or mop, either soaked in water for cleaning or dry for wiping dry. However, these days other cleaning implements tend to be used for such purposes. In North Germany and in sailor's language, a scrubber is also called a ''Leuwagen'', hence in large firms or offices a cleaning party is sometimes jokingly called a ''Leuwagenballett'' ("scrubber ballet"). The KSShch (; tr.:''Korabelny snaryad Shchuka (KSShch)''; ) was a Soviet anti-ship cruise missile design that carried a nuclear warhead. Its GRAU designation is 4K32. It was sometimes referred to as P-1 Strela (П-1 «Стрела», "Arrow"). It was used in the 1950s and 1960s. The missile's NATO reporting name was SS-N-1 ''Scrubber''. It was tested in 1953–1954 on the destroyer ''Bedovyy'' ( ''Kildin''-class) and entered service in 1955, being deployed on ''Kildin''- and ''Krupnyy'' (later converted to ''Kanin'')-class ships. It was fired from a heavy rail launcher SM-59, with an armoured hangar. As those ships were retrofitted and modernized between 1966 and 1977, the missiles were removed (in favor of the SS-N-2 on the Kildin class and an anti-aircraft/anti-submarine weapons suite on the Kanin class).
