Scout Association Of Lithuania
Lietuvos skautų sąjunga (LSS, ''Scout Association of Lithuania'') is one of Lithuania's Scouting organizations. The organization serves about 1,300 members as of 2008. History LSS claims to be the oldest Scouting organization in Lithuania. Its predecessor was established in 1930, although there are some opinions that it happened much earlier, in 1918, but that was only the embryo phase. In 1918, established the first Scout troop in Lithuania. In 1922, the first general assembly united the Lithuanian Scout Movement into the first Scout Association of Lithuania (SAL). This date could be argued as the year of establishment of Scout Association of Lithuania, for in 1930 when the law of Lithuanian Scouting Association (LSA) became effective all other organizations were united under the new name. Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth Social movement, movement employing the Scout method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, Backpacking (wilderness), backpacking, and sports. Scout Troop
A Scout troop is a term adopted into use with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Scout Movement to describe their basic units. The term troop echoes a group of mounted scouts in the military or an expedition and follows the terms cavalry, mounted infantry and mounted police use for organizational units. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Scout Movement In the Scout Movement, a Scout troop is an organizational unit consisting of a number of patrols of Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or Girl Guides. The Scout Motto of the Scout movement is, in English, "Be Prepared", with most international branches of the group using a close translation of that phrase.
