Scott Thompson (footballer, Born 1983)
Scott Thompson (born 14 March 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by with pick 16 in the 2000 AFL draft, 2000 national draft from in the SANFL, and was traded to Adelaide after the 2004 season. AFL career Melbourne (2001–2004) Thompson debuted with in round 10, 2001 as an 18-year-old. After winning the club's Best First Year Player award in 2001, subsequent injuries caused him to struggle to break into the side for the next two years. In 2004 he played every game (barring a one-match suspension for striking) before breaking his foot against in round 13 and missing the remainder of the year. At the end of the 2004 season, Thompson asked to return to South Australia as his brother was unwell and was able to complete a trade, exchanging pick 12 in the national draft. Scott D. Thompson (born 9 May 1986) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was selected 37th overall in the 2007 AFL Draft by North Melbourne. Early career As a teenager, Thompson starred in the Geelong Football League. Playing his preferred position of full back, Thompson played a key role in Geelong's VFL premiership side in 2007, his heroic actions stopping a key forward about 30 kg heavier than him in the 2006 grand final, has become legend at his local club, South Barwon. He is one of the best players in University of San Diego history and was named the conference player of the year of the West Coast Athletic Conference (WCAC) in 1987. College career Thompson, a center from Mesa Verde High School in Citrus Heights, California, played basketball for coach Hank Egan at San Diego, where he was friends and teammates with future NBA coach Eric Musselman. Thompson was an immediate impact player for the Toreros, helping the team to the first NCAA tournament berth in program history in 1984. He was also named WCAC freshman of the year. Scott Thompson (born April 16, 1971) is an American professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with the professional wrestling promotion World Championship Wrestling under the ring name King Kong in the early 1990s and later worked as Krusher Kong on the wrestling independent circuit. Thompson teamed up with another wrestler, Dwain McCullough, known as Awesome Kong to form a regular tag team known as The Colossal Kongs. On January 20, 2010, he was ranked 21st in the USL First Division Top 25 of the Decade, which announced a list of the best and most influential players of the previous decade. He was the official community ambassador for the Portland Timbers and involved in social media connecting with fans, both Twitter and Facebook, for the Timbers. Lillix () was a pop rock band from Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada, formed in 1997 when the early members were in high school. The band was originally an all-girl group under the name Tigerlily composed of guitarist Tasha-Ray Evin, keyboardist Lacey-Lee Evin, bassist Louise Burns, and drummer Sierra Hills. In 2001 the band was signed by Maverick Records and changed their name to Lillix as there was another band called Tigerlily. Hills left in 2002 and was replaced by Kim Urhahn, and later by Alicia Warrington, a future ''WWE NXT'' ring announcer under the name Alicia Taylor. Scott Thompson (born February 25, 1965), known professionally as Carrot Top, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He is widely known for his use of prop comedy. Early life Thompson was born in Rockledge, Florida, and grew up in Cocoa. He is the younger of two sons, and his father is a NASA engineer. He went to Cocoa High School where he played drums in the marching and concert band. He graduated in 1983. He got the nickname "Carrot Top" from a local swimming coach, a reference to his red hair, which would become one of his trademarks in later life.
