Scott McKay (politician)
Scott McKay (born December 2, 1960) is a Canadian politician, who served as a former leader of the Green Party of Quebec and a former Montreal council member. McKay was elected in 2008 to the Quebec National Assembly for the Parti Québécois but he was defeated in the 2014 Quebec election. Background McKay was born to a francophone mother and an Irish-anglophone father in the town of Montréal-Est. He has completed a M.Sc. in Environmental sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal and is currently working in the field of water treatment. He also obtained a bachelor's degree in sciences at the UQAM in 1987. Municipal politics In 1986, he was elected to Montreal's City Council as candidate of Jean Doré's '' Rassemblement des citoyens et citoyennes de Montréal (RCM)'' for the district of Honoré-Beaugrand. Scott McKay (born Carl Gose, May 28, 1915 – March 16, 1987) was an American film, television and theatre actor. Life and career McKay was born Carl Gose in Pleasantville, Iowa. He attended the University of Colorado, studying English literature. After graduating, McKay had ambitions to become a professor of English, but decided to pursue a career as an actor after an appearance in a Little Theatre Movement, Little Theatre production. His first work in theatre was as a straight man for a magician. He performed in Broadway plays from 1939 onwards, first appearing in the cast of ''The American Way (play), The American Way'', credited as Carl Gose. He played Captain Fisby in ''The Teahouse of the August Moon (play), The Teahouse of the August Moon'' replacing John Forsythe. McKay also played David Larabee in ''Sabrina Fair'', and Brigadoon#Characters and original cast, Jeff Douglas in a 1967 production of ''Brigadoon''. Scott Gordon McKay (born January 26, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger who played National Hockey League for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during the 1993–94 NHL season. On April 9, 1994, he played against the Vancouver Canucks, he was credited with 1 shot on goal, but failed to register a point. After the game, he played in various minor leagues, as well as in the Alpenliga in 1996-1997. He retired in 1998.
