Scott Baker (darts Player)
Scott Baker (born 31 March 1986) is an English darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career In 2017, Baker won the Lincolnshire Open and Welsh Masters. He qualified for the 2018 BDO World Darts Championship as the 23rd ranked player in the BDO, but he lost 3–2 to Andy Baetens in the first round. The following year, he also qualified for the tournament and won his first game 3–0 against Ross Montgomery, before a stunning comeback against reigning champion Glen Durrant fell just short in the second round. Baker opted to enter PDC UK Q-School in January 2019 with the BDO restrictions having been lifted. Following a run to the last 16 on the first day, Baker beat Dan Lauby Jr 5–1 in the final on day two to seal a two-year PDC Tour Card. British Darts Organisation
The British Darts Organisation (BDO) was a darts organisation founded on 7 January 1973 by Olly Croft, and dissolved in 2020 under the stewardship of Des Jacklin. Made up of 66 member counties, it oversaw professional, semi-professional and amateur darts competitions in Britain. The BDO was a founder member of the World Darts Federation in 1974. It also staged a World Professional Darts Championship from 1978 to 2020. In the early 1990s, a dispute between Olly Croft and the top darts players over the decline in TV coverage and sponsorship led to an acrimonious split in the game, with the players breaking away to form their own governing body which became the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championship Finals
The Players Championship Finals is a darts tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament originally featured the top 32 players from the Players Championship Order of Merit, a separate ranking system that only takes into account the non-televised Players Championship events on the PDC Pro Tour. In 2016, the field increased to 64 players. The tournament was first announced at the PDC Awards Dinner in January 2008 by PDC chairman Barry Hearn. It was initially held from late January to February, and originally took place at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, the venue for the first 14 PDC World Championships. For the third edition, the event moved to the Doncaster Dome. The 2025 UK Open, known as the 2025 Ladbrokes UK Open for sponsorship reasons, was a professional darts tournament that was held from 28 February to 2 March 2025 at Butlin's Minehead, Butlin's in Minehead, England. It was the twenty-third UK Open to be staged by the Professional Darts Corporation. 2020 UK Open
The 2020 Ladbrokes UK Open was a darts tournament staged by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was the eighteenth year of the tournament where players compete in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. The tournament was held for the seventh time at the Butlin's Resort in Minehead, England, between 6–8 March 2020, and has the nickname, "the FA Cup of darts" as a random draw is staged after each round following the conclusion of the third round until the final. Nathan Aspinall was the defending champion after defeating Rob Cross 11–5 in the 2019 final. However, he lost 10–8 to Michael van Gerwen in the fourth round. The Ladbrokes UK Open is a ranking major darts tournament held annually at the Butlins Minehead Resort by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in England. The event is often referred to as the "FA Cup of darts" as it has an unseeded open draw made after each round, and entry is open to players at all levels of darts. One-hundred-and-sixty players compete in the multi-board event over eight-stages before the PDC’s Top 32 enter the tournament in the fourth round. The 2017 Winmau World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/ WDF calendar for 2017. It took place from 25 to 27 September at the Bridlington Spa Hall, which hosted the stage element of the event for the first time since 2009. Glen Durrant was the defending men's champion after defeating Mark McGeeney in last year's final by 6 sets to 3 but he failed to defend his title after losing to eventual champion Krzysztof Ratajski in the quarter-finals. Trina Gulliver was the defending women's champion after defeating Deta Hedman in the final last year by 5 legs to 2 but she failed to defend her title after losing to Tricia Wright in the quarter-finals.
