Schrassig Prison
Schrassig Prison (Officially:"''Centre pénitentiaire de Schrassig''") is the only closed penitentiary in Luxembourg. The prison is located near the towns of Schrassig, Sandweiler and Oetrange and is built upon land belonging to the commune of Schuttrange. The prison opened in 1984 after 6 years of construction and replaced the prison in Grund (Luxembourg), Grund, Luxembourg. It was overcrowded within 3 years. Sandweiler () is a commune and town in southern Luxembourg. It is located east of Luxembourg City. As of , the town of Sandweiler, which lies in the south-west of the commune, has a population of . Other settlements within the commune include Findel and Birelerhaff. The commune is dominated by Luxembourg Airport, Luxembourg's only international airport and the fifth-busiest cargo airport in Europe, which lies to the north and west of the town of Sandweiler. Oetrange
Oetrange (, ) is a small town in the commune of Contern, in south-eastern Luxembourg. , the town has a population of 781, but it increased to 843 in 2021 and again to 858 in 2022. The town is served by Oetrange railway station, which lies on Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois' Line 30. Geography Oetrange is located in the Syredal, between the towns of Schrassig in the north and Moutfort in the south. Further neighbouring villages are the clock, Canach ,Greveldange, Bous, Ersrange , and Sandweiler . Grund (Luxembourg)
Grund () is a quarter in central Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It is located in the valley below the centre of Luxembourg City on the banks of the Alzette river. In addition to being a picturesque area, it is a popular nightlife precinct which can be accessed by foot or via a lift which descends through the cliff. , the quarter has a relatively small population of 957 inhabitants, of whom 42.53% are Luxembourgers. Luc Frieden
Luc Frieden (born 16 September 1963) is a Luxembourgish politician, lawyer, and business executive. He has held several posts in the cabinet of Luxembourg, including as Minister for Justice (1998–2009), Minister for Defence (2004–2006), and Minister for Finances (2009–2013). He is a member of the Trilateral Commission. Early life and education Luc Frieden completed high school in his home country Luxembourg and received thereafter an international university education in France, the UK and the US. He graduated in business law from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He obtained a master's degree in comparative law from the University of Cambridge (UK) and a further Master of Laws Degree from Harvard Law School.
