School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST) is a specialised independent school in Singapore, offering a four-year curriculum leading to a Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level (O-Levels) or first year entry to a STEM-related diploma course at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP). History On 4 March 2008, the establishment of SST was announced in the 11th Parliament of Singapore, by Minister for Education Tharman Shanmugaratnam. As part of setting up the school, SST partnered with Nanyang Technological University, IBM, and Creative Technology to provide learning opportunities and internship programmes for students. Five new applied subjects were also designed in collaboration with NP to be taken at O-Levels, namely fundamentals of electronics, media studies and digital video production, design studies, biotechnology, and environmental science and technology. Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level
The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (or Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level) is a GCE Ordinary Level examination held annually in Singapore and is jointly conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). Students are graded in the bands ranging from A to F and each band has a respective grade point, a lower grade point indicates poor performance (e.g. A1 band equates to 1 grade point). The number at the end of each grade corresponds to the grade point that they receive (i.e. A1 = 1, A2 = 2, B3 = 3, B4 = 4, C5 = 5, C6 = 6, D7 = 7 E8 = 8, F9 = 9). Clementi ( , ) is a planning area and residential town located at the easternmost fringe of the West Region of Singapore. The town borders Bukit Batok to the north, Bukit Timah to the northeast, Queenstown to the east and Jurong East to the west. The Ngee Ann Kongsi () is a Charitable organization, charitable foundation in Singapore and governed by the Ngee Ann Kongsi Ordinance of 1933. It is one of many Overseas Chinese Kongsi, or clan associations, that were set up by immigrants from China in the late 19th century. The foundation's name, Ngee Ann, is the old name for Chaozhou, which may also be transliterated as Chaozhou, Teochew.
