''Schafe, Monster und Mäuse'' is the fifteenth studio album by German rock band Element of Crime, released in October 2018 by Vertigo Records. The first single, "Am ersten Sonntag nach dem Weltuntergang", was released in early August 2018. It is the final studio album to feature longtime member David Young, who died in 2022. Element Of Crime
Element of Crime is a German rock band that plays melancholic chanson, pop and rock music with guitar, bass guitar, drums and voice/trumpet. Band history The band was founded in 1985 by Sven Regener who subsequently became known as the author of the books '' Herr Lehmann'' (2001) (English title ''Berlin Blues''), '' Neue Vahr Süd'' (2004) and '' Der kleine Bruder'' (2008) and as the screenplay writer of the film adaptation of '' Herr Lehmann'' (2003). Regener sings and plays guitar, trumpet, accordion and piano. While various members of the band contribute music to the songs, Regener writes most of the lyrics – in English for the first few albums and then in German. The band's name is borrowed from the title of the movie ''The Element of Crime'' by Lars von Trier. David Young (guitarist)
David Justin Young (2 May 1949 – 31 August 2022) was an English musician, record producer and audio engineer best known for his playing with the John Cale Band in the 1980s and collaborating with the German band Element of Crime for 35 years. Career Young started his career in the 1970s. He was one of the three audio engineers on David Bowie's Diamond Dogs North American Tour in 1974. He also worked with Duke Ellington. In 1982, he started working with John Cale, initially as an audio engineer (along with David Lichtenstein) on what would become the '' Music for a New Society'' studio album. He also plays guitar on some songs and joined his live band as a full member soon after. Sven Regener
Sven Regener (born 1 January 1961) is a German musician and writer living in Berlin. In 1982 he recorded his first LP with the band ''Zatopek'' and in 1984 he joined ''Neue Liebe''. In 1985 he founded the Berlin band Element of Crime together with Jakob Friderichs. He writes almost all their lyrics as well as playing trumpet. In 2001 he published his first novel, '' Berlin Blues'' (original title '' Herr Lehmann''), which achieved sales of around one million copies. The book takes place in autumn 1989 in Berlin. In 2004, Regener was awarded the Deutscher Filmpreis for the screenplay to the film of the same name (best screenplay that has been turned into a film). Jef Labes
Jef Labes is an American keyboardist and musician. He is best known from his work with Van Morrison and Bonnie Raitt. Jef Labes has also arranged for string and woodwind instruments on numerous albums. Career Labes started his recording career with the Boston-based Apple Pie Motherhood Band, playing piano and organ on the albums ''Apple Pie & Motherhood'' (1968), composing four of the tracks himself and ''Apple Pie'' (1969), this time composing one track. The band split up later in 1969 and did not make another album. In the same year Labes moved to Woodstock to join Van Morrison as a live musician. Vertigo is a condition in which a person has the sensation that they are moving, or that objects around them are moving, when they are not. Often it feels like a spinning or swaying movement. It may be associated with nausea, vomiting, perspiration, or difficulties walking. It is typically worse when the head is moved. Vertigo is the most common type of dizziness. The most common disorders that result in vertigo are benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Ménière's disease, and vestibular neuritis.
