Say No More (Badfinger Album)
''Say No More'' is the ninth studio album recorded by Welsh rock band Badfinger that contained new material. Issued in January 1981 on eRadio Records, the LP was the second and last reunion by Tom Evans and Joey Molland, after the suicide of band founder Pete Ham in 1975. The album was recorded in Miami, Florida, by Evans, Molland, pianist and organist Tony Kaye (formerly of Yes), guitarist Glen Sherba and drummer Richard Bryans and was co-produced by Jack Richardson. Kaye had been invited to join the band by Evans after ''Airwaves'', as the two had been friends. Kaye later reflected on the album, "I really kind of like that album. It had a certain something. Of course, we recorded it in Miami. The band was living in a house on Key Biscayne. There was a lot of drinking and stuff going on. Their best-known lineup consisted of Pete Ham (guitar), Mike Gibbins (drums), Tom Evans (musician), Tom Evans (bass), and Joey Molland (guitar). Joey Molland
Joseph Charles Molland II (21 June 1947 – 1 March 2025) was an English songwriter and rock guitarist whose recording career spanned five decades. He was best known as a member of Badfinger, the most successful of the acts he performed with. Molland was the last surviving member from the band's classic line-up. Career Molland's recording career began in earnest in 1967 when he joined Gary Walker (formerly of the Walker Brothers) for the group Gary Walker & The Rain. The band released several singles, an EP, and an album on the Polydor and Philips Records, Philips labels in the UK and Japan between 1967 and 1969. Titled ''#1'', the album featured four Molland songs and was especially well received in Japan, but the band broke up in early 1969. ''Head First'' is the tenth and final studio album by British rock band Badfinger, released on 14 November 2000. It was recorded over 25 years earlier at the Beatles' Apple Studios in London, but was not released at the time. Originally intended to be Badfinger's third LP under its six-album contract with Warner Bros. Records, the recordings were shelved when legal difficulties erupted between the band and the label. The version that was finally released in 2000 was a rough mix of the album made in December 1974 by Phil McDonald, one of the recording engineers at Apple Studios. Peter Max (born Peter Max Finkelstein, October 19, 1937) is a German-American artist known for using bright colors in his work. Works by Max are associated with the visual arts and culture of the 1960s, particularly psychedelic art and pop art. Early life and education Peter Max was born in Berlin, the son of Salla and Jakob Finkelstein, German Jews. They fled Berlin in 1938, settling in Shanghai, China, where they lived for the next ten years. Peter's time in Shanghai influenced much of his later work. He loved the colours and the "calligraphic ballet" that he witnessed daily at the Buddhist temple across the street from the family villa. Tony Kaye (musician)
Anthony John Selvidge (born 11 January 1946), known professionally as Tony Kaye, is an English keyboardist, best known as a founding member of the progressive rock band Yes. Born into a musical family, Kaye was classically trained and intended to become a concert pianist before he developed an interest in jazz and contemporary rock and pop music. He joined several groups throughout the 1960s, including the Federals, Johnny Taylor's Star Combo, Jimmy Winston & His Reflections, and Bittersweet. In 1968, Kaye became a founding member of Yes and played on their first three albums until 1971. He then formed Badger and relocated to Los Angeles in 1974, after which he toured with David Bowie and joined Detective. Kaye also played in Badfinger and appeared on their final studio album in 1981. He returned to Yes in 1983 before he left again in 1995. Pete Ham
Peter William Ham (27 April 1947 – 24 April 1975) was a Welsh singer, songwriter and guitarist best known as a lead vocalist of and composer for the 1970s rock band Badfinger, whose hit songs include "No Matter What (Badfinger song), No Matter What", "Day After Day (Badfinger song), Day After Day" and "Baby Blue (Badfinger song), Baby Blue". He also co-wrote the ballad "Without You (Badfinger song), Without You", a worldwide number-one hit for Harry Nilsson that has become a standard covered by hundreds of artists. Tom Evans (musician)
Thomas Evans (5June 194719November 1983) was an English musician who was best known for his work as the bassist of the band Badfinger. He also co-wrote their 1970 song " Without You," which has been recorded by over 180 artists — most notably Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey. Evans died by suicide in 1983, one of two members to do so, the first being Pete Ham in 1975.
