The twenty-fifth season of ''Saturday Night Live'' (also branded ''Saturday Night Live 25'' and ''SNL25''), an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between October 2, 1999 and May 20, 2000. Cast Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, and Chris Parnell were promoted to repertory status. Rachel Dratch and Maya Rudolph joined the cast as featured players. In July of 1999, when executive producer Lorne Michaels held auditions for the season, NBC introduced a new contract for first-year cast members, replacing the five- or six-year deals they had used in the past. The terms were established by NBC executives Scott Sassa and Garth Ancier. The twenty-fourth season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between September 26, 1998, and May 15, 1999. Cast Before the start of the season, Jim Breuer, who had been a cast member for three seasons since 1995, left the show on his own terms. Following Breuer's departure, the show added three new featured players: stand-up comedian Jimmy Fallon, Chris Parnell, a performer with The Groundlings in Los Angeles, and Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City performer Horatio Sanz. Fallon, Parnell, and Sanz were all upgraded to repertory status during the following season. Following the finale, no changes were made to the cast, and everyone returned for the next season. Ana Kristina Gasteyer (born May 4, 1967) is an American actress and comedian. She was a cast member on ''Saturday Night Live'' from 1996 to 2002. She has since starred in such sitcoms as ABC's '' Suburgatory,'' TBS's '' People of Earth'', NBC's ''American Auto'', and the film ''Mean Girls''. Early life Gasteyer was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Mariana Roumell-Gasteyer, an artist, and Phil Gasteyer, a lobbyist who later became the mayor of Corrales, New Mexico. "Thursday's Child" is a song recorded by David Bowie for his twenty-second studio album '' Hours'' (1999). Written by Bowie and Reeves Gabrels, the song was released as the album's lead single on 20 September 1999, by Virgin Records. Background and composition It was the first single from ''Hours'' and preceded the album by two weeks. In a performance for ''VH1 Storytellers'', Bowie revealed that the title of the song was prompted by the memory of the autobiography of actress Eartha Kitt. The book, also called ''Thursday's Child'', used to be a favourite of his when he was 14 years old. The song, just like " Ashes to Ashes", is inspired by Danny Kaye's "Inchworm".
