The Underdog Project
The Underdog Project is a German dance group which launched its first album, '' It Doesn't Matter'' in 2001. Their hits include "Saturday" (not to be confused with "Saturday Night"; this was not released until two years after the album had come out), "Summer Jam" and " Tonight". The band has four members: Vic Krishna (vocals), Craig Smart (vocals), DJ Frank (remixes) and AJ Duncan (keyboards). Career The band was formed when Canadian artist Vic Krishna was visiting Germany and had a jam session with Canadian singer Craig Smart and the production team of ToneDef and Triple S. It went well, so they started recording; mostly demo tapes, but also full-fledged tracks. When there was enough material for an album, ''It Doesn't Matter'' was the end result. The group's most popular track, "Summer Jam", was one of the biggest pop hits in Europe. At one point, it was on the rotation list of every pop radio station in Germany. Euro-Dance (sometimes referred to as Euro-NRG, Euro-electronica or Euro) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the late 1980s in Europe. Toni Cottura
Toni Cottura (born 7 June 1971), better known by his stage name Smooth T., is an Italian-born German Eurodance and hip hop producer and rapper. Musical career He started his career in 1988 as a hip hop producer with David Fascher and later worked with DJ Shahin. In 1993, he founded the Eurodance group Fun Factory, where he started as a dancer before he went on to producer, songwriter and then moving up to rapping on the band's second album. Fun Factory disbanded in 1996. Cottura and partner Bülent Aris began to concentrate on their hip-hop collective, known as the Booya Family. "Summer Jam" is a song by German-Belgian dance music group The Underdog Project. Released on 24 July 2000 as the lead single from their album '' It Doesn't Matter'', the song was considered a big hit in Europe, peaking at #3 in both Germany and Portugal, #5 in Hungary, #10 in Austria, #14 in Italy, and #17 in Switzerland. After that, the single aired on some of the most popular radio stations in the US like WPOW in Miami and New York City's WKTU. Multiple record charts have been inaugurated in Romania since the 1990s. The Romanian Top 100 was the country's national chart until 2012. Founded in 1995, it was a ranking based on the compilation of charts submitted by local Romanian radio stations. The Romanian Top 100 was published weekly and was also announced during a radio show starting in 1998. Compilation of the list was first handled by Body M Production A-V, followed by Media Forest. In the 2010s, the chart was announced during a podcast on Kiss FM (Romania), Kiss FM, but the broadcast ended in February 2012.
