Sarkis Levoni Balasanyan (; born August 17, 1978), professionally known as Super Sako (), is an Armenian-American rapper, singer, DJ and record producer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his hit single "Mi Gna," which ranked at #4 in France and #2 in Romania music charts in 2018. Early life Balasanyan was born on 17 August 1978 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Union. He moved to Los Angeles, California, alongside his family at a young age and grew up in Hollywood. Sarkis Katchadourian
Sarkis Katchadourian (, August 9, 1886 – March 4, 1947) was an Armenian artist. Biography Sarkis Katchadourian was born on August 9, 1886, in Malatya in the family of Sarkis and Varduhi. He received his primary education in Armenian Evangelical College of Malatya. 1902-1908 he studied at Sanasarian College in Karin (Erzurum), In 1908 he left for Constantinople. 1908-1911 he studied at Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and graduated with gold medal. He returned to Constantinople, where he taught painting at Sanasarian College in Karin. 1912-1914 he studied at the National Higher school of decorative arts in Paris and received the first class diploma. He left for Geneva to study pedagogy and then improved it in Munich and Vienna. Sarkis Hovhannesi Kasyan or Kasian (''Qosyan'', (), , 1876, Shushi - December 11, 1937) was an Armenian Soviet statesman, politician, publicist and journalist. He was arrested and later shot in 1937 during the Great Purge. He was posthumously rehabilitated. Biography Sarkis Kasyan was born on January 28, 1876, in the town of Shushi in the Elisabethpol Governorate of the Russian Empire. During his childhood, his family moved to Baku, where he attended the Baku Realschule. There, Kasyan began participating in underground student organizations and reading banned literature. He was expelled from school in the seventh grade for disobedience. Kasyan left for Germany in 1900 and graduated from Leipzig Commercial Institute and the Faculty of Philosophy of Berlin University in 1904. After graduating, he returned to Baku. Sarkis Jebejian
Sarkis Jebejian (, Jebeji, 1864–1920) was an Armenian military leader, the head of the self-defense of Hadjin (1920). Biography Jebejian was born in Kayseri. In 1914 when he witnessed the extermination of Armenian soldiers in the Turkish army, he fled and joined General Andranik Ozanian's volunteer unit in Caucasus. In April 1915 he participated in the Battle of Dilman. Then as a lieutenant of Andranik's Special Striking Division he participated in Zangezur's self-defense. Being in confrontation with Dashnak authorities, he, as his commander Andranik, left Armenian Republic in 1919 and moved to Constantinople, then Cilicia. In 1920 he became the Commander of the Supreme Council of self-defense of Hadjin, and heroically fought during nine months. He was wounded and fell during the last days of self-defense. Sarkis Hovanessian
Aram Manukian (19 March 187929 January 1919) was an Armenian revolutionary, statesman, and a leading member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) party. He is widely regarded as the founder of the First Republic of Armenia. Born and educated in Russian (Eastern) Armenia, he was mostly active in Van, one of the largest cities in Turkish (Western) Armenia. He rose to prominence there as a community organizer. During the first months of World War I, he worked with local Ottoman officials to de-escalate rising tensions until mid-April 1915, when Turkish forces laid siege to the city. Sarkis Dkhrouni
Sarkis Dkhrouni (''Տխրունի'', meaning ''Sad'', ''Sarkis Kederian, Սարգիս Քէտէրեան'') was an Armenian political figure and editor. Armenian Dkhrouhi Youth Association is named after him. Biography Dkhruni was born in Sis in 1898. He studied at National college of Sis, then in 1912 he entered Ayntab college. His father was killed during the Armenian genocide, Dkhrouni and his mother survived and returned to Cilicia. He worked as teacher and edited "Tavros" and "Nor Serund" newspapers. After the occupation of Hadjin he moved to Syria, where he edited "Souriakan Mamoul" newspaper. Working as a Social Democrat Hunchakian Party activist, he was arrested by the French authorities and sent to Arwat island where he published "New Bastille" paper with other Arabian patriots. Sarkis Djanbazian (; ), also written as Sarkis Janbazian, (15 January 1913 in Armavir – 11 December 1963 in Tehran) was a Russian-born Iranian-Armenian artist. Sarkis Diranian
Sarkis Diranian (; 1854 - 1938) was an Armenian orientalist painter. Originally from the Ottoman Empire, he was established for many years in Paris. Life Diranian was born in 1854 in Constantinople and studied art at the school of drawing and painting opened on Hamalbaşi Street in Beyoğlu by the French artist Pierre Desire Guillemet in 1875. His painting ''The Enchantress'' was exhibited in the photography studio of the Abdullah Freres in Beyoğlu in 1883, and on the proceeds from its sale he went to Paris and worked in the studio of Jean-Léon Gérôme.
