Sant'Agnese A Vignano
Sant'Agnese a Vignano is a Renaissance-style, Roman Catholic church located in the village of Vignano just outside the walls of the city of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. It is part of the archdiocese of Siena-Colle of Val d'Elsa-Montalcino. History A church at the site is mentioned in 1175, but underwent reconstruction in later centuries. Again restored in 1910 and 1930. The church contains an altarpiece depicting a ''Madonna and Child'' by Bartolo di Fredi; a 20th-century statue of ''Santa Agnese'' by Fulvio Corsini; and a work by the sculptor Tommaso Redi. Renaissance architecture is the European architecture of the period between the early 15th and early 16th centuries in different regions, demonstrating a conscious revival and development of certain elements of ancient Greek and Roman thought and material culture. Bartolo Di Fredi
Bartolo di Fredi (c. 1330 – 26 January 1410), also called Bartolo Battiloro, was an Italian painter, born in Siena, classified as a member of the Sienese School. Biography He had a large studio and was one of the most influential painters working in Siena and the surrounding towns in the second half of the fourteenth century. He registered in the Guild of that city in 1355; he had several children, who all died before him, with the exception of Andrea di Bartolo. He was the companion of Andrea Vanni from 1353, and helped decorate the Hall of Council at Siena, in 1361. From 1356 he worked in the Collegiata, or principal church, of San Gimignano, some 30 km from Siena, where he painted the entire side of the left aisle with a cycle of frescoes of ''Scenes from the Old Testament''; the completed work was signed and dated in 1367. Giuseppe Nicola Nasini
Giuseppe Nicola Nasini (January 25, 1657– July 3, 1736) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, active in Rome and Tuscany. Biography Born in Castel del Piano, now in the Province of Grosseto, Giuseppe was the son of the painter Francesco Nasini and was one of the Tuscan pupils in the Medici-patronized Grand-Ducal Academy for the Arts located in Rome and directed from 1673–86, by Ciro Ferri. He was also sponsored in Rome by Agostino Chigi. From 1679 to 1680, Nasini completed over a dozen portraits of Chigi's family; some are copies of paintings by Jacob Ferdinand Voet and Alessandro Mattia da Farnese. On October 15, 1680, his paintings of the ''Judgement of Solomon'' and ''Elias meets a child and widow'' was awarded second prize for design in the first class of painting at the Accademia di San Luca contest.
