Barbara Sansoni
Kala Suri Barbara Sansoni (22 April 1928 – 23 April 2022) was a Sri Lankan designer, artist, colourist, entrepreneur, and writer. She was known for her works in architecture, textile designs, and handwoven panels. She founded the Barefoot textile company, a company that is highly acclaimed for its handloom fabric. She also served as the chairperson and chief designer of Barefoot Pvt. Ltd for several years. Sansoni was said to have "redefined the concept of colour in Sri Lanka". She empowered women weavers and transformed the national cottage industry. Sansoni is an Italian publisher founded in 1873 by Giulio Cesare Sansoni, located in Florence. History Until the 1930s, Sansoni devoted almost all its attention to literature, with its works mostly aimed at schools and universities. Some of its most important collections are "Raccolta di opere inedite o rare di ogni secolo della letteratura italiana" (started in 1880), "Biblioteca scolastica di classici italiani (started in 1885), "Collezione di classici greci"" (started in 1887), "Biblioteca critica della letteratura italiana" (started in 1895). The Noctuidae, commonly known as owlet moths, cutworms or armyworms, are a family of moths. They are considered the most controversial family in the superfamily Noctuoidea because many of the clades are constantly changing, along with the other families of the Noctuoidea. It was considered the largest family in Lepidoptera for a long time, but after regrouping Lymantriinae, Catocalinae and Calpinae within the family Erebidae, the latter holds this title now. Currently, Noctuidae is the second largest family in Noctuoidea, with about 1,089 genera and 11,772 species. This classification is still contingent, as more changes continue to appear between Noctuidae and Erebidae. Autographa Sansoni
''Autographa sansoni'', the Alberta beauty, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by F. H. Wolley Dod in 1910. It is found in the western mountains of North America, from Alaska south to Oregon, Idaho and Arizona. Occurring mainly in the Pacific Northwest, it thrives in mid-to-high elevation conifer forest habitat, as well as some areas of coastal rain forest in the Coast range. However, it is also found in a non-contiguous range in sub-alpine forest in the Rocky Mountains, ranging from Alberta in the north, to New Mexico in the south. The wingspan of an adult ranges between 34 and 36 mm. It is widespread, and a relatively common species. Behaviour Adults are on the wing from June to July, depending on the location. Doreen Sansoni
Thomasine Doreen Sansoni (11 October 1911 – 22 June 1977) was a Sri Lankan tennis player and national No. 1. She won a total of twenty eight career titles in singles, doubles and mixed doubles from 1935 to 1946. Adaptable at competing on two natural surfaces she won titles on both clay and grass courts. She remains the most successful Sri Lankan female player. Tennis career Sansoni began her tennis career in 1931. In April 1933 she reached the semi-finals of the national championships played at the Hill Club in Nuwara Eliya. She won her first singles at the Ceylon Championships in 1935. At the same event that year she earned the distinction of being the first female player to achieve the triple crown by winning both the doubles and mixed doubles. Sébastien Roger Sansoni (born 30 January 1978) is a French former professional footballer. Career Sansoni is a defender who was born in Marseille and made his debut in professional football, being part of the Neuchâtel Xamax squad in the 1999–2000 season. He also played for FC Martigues, LB Châteauroux and Ethnikos Asteras before joining Vitesse Arnhem. In the 2006–07 season Sansoni held the Dutch headlines for biting in Roy Beerens' nose during an Eredivisie match between Vitesse and N.E.C., a Gelderland derby.
