''Home and Away'' is an Australian soap opera. The following is a list of characters that first appeared in 2000, by order of appearance. They were all introduced by the show's executive producer John Holmes. The 13th season of ''Home and Away'' began airing on the Seven Network on 31 January 2000. The first introduction of the year was Leah Poulos, played by Ada Nicodemou in March. In May, Spencer McLaren arrived as Kieran Fletcher, a love interest for established character Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie). The following month saw the arrival of a new family, the Sutherlands consisting of Rhys, Shelley and their three daughters, Dani, Kirsty and Jade. Seven Network
The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air television network. It is owned by Seven West Media Limited, and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. The network's headquarters are located in Sydney. As of 2014, it is the second-largest network in the country in terms of population reach. Susie Rugg
Brodie Hanson (also Poulos) is a fictional character in the Australian soap opera ''Home and Away'' portrayed by actress Susie Rugg. She made her first appearance on 20 July 2000 and departed on 7 November 2002, she briefly returned in February 2004. Development In late 2002, Jason Herbison from ''Inside Soap'' revealed that Rugg had filmed her final scenes as Brodie. Of her exit she stated that "I was sad to leave but I think the time has come to go. The show has enabled me to do a lot of incredible things I wouldn't normally have been able to do." Ben Steel () is an Australian actor and director who is most known for his regular role of Jude Lawson in Australian soap ''Home and Away''. Early life and acting training Steel's parents are Glenys Steel and Ray Steel. He has two older sisters, Nicole Simpson (Steel) and Kara Joiner (Steel). Steel moved to Sydney after completing his high school studies in 1993. His family remained in Melbourne. Steel started taking acting lessons when he was eleven. This later led to studies at Sydney's Australian Theatre for Young People and The Actor's Centre. It was at The Actor's Pulse in Sydney that Steel discovered the Meisner acting technique.
