Sandy Creek is a town in South Australia. The town is situated approximately 6 kilometres east of Gawler, South Australia, Gawler and is the last town passed through before reaching Barossa Valley at Lyndoch, South Australia, Lyndoch. The Sandy Creek Conservation Park is nearby as is Tindo, a members only gated nudist enclave with several permanent residents and a fully functioning caravan park. Geography The surrounding fields are often populated by wild kangaroos and a significant Eastern brown snake, brown snake population. Bega River (New South Wales)
The Bega River is an intermittently open intermediate wave dominated barrier estuary that is located in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. Course The Bega River rises at the confluence of the Bemboka River and Tantawanglo Creek at Morans Crossing, adjacent to the Snowy Mountains Highway. The headwaters of the river rise in the Kybeyan Range that is part of the Great Dividing Range. From Morans Crossing, the river flows generally east, then north northeast, before flowing to the northside of Bega where it meets its major tributary, the Brogo River. The Bega River then flows southeast and finally east to reach its mouth at the Tasman Sea of the South Pacific Ocean via Mogareeka Inlet, north of the town of Tathra. The river descends over its course. The Bega River is known as the Bemboka River in its upper reaches. Sandy Creek is an creek located entirely within Monroe County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The creek rises in London Township in the north-central portion of the county and flows southeast into Lake Erie in Frenchtown Charter Township at Sterling State Park. Along the banks of Sandy Creek was one of the earliest French settlements in the area, known as the Sandy Creek Settlement, which existed from approximately 1780–1813 before being abandoned after the Battle of Frenchtown during the War of 1812. Geography A very narrow and shallow creek, Sandy Creek contains no dams and is not navigable. However, the creek's watershed serves an important purpose of flood prevention in the area, which has a relatively flat topography and heavy agricultural use. In 2019, most of the creek underwent a $1.2 million clearcutting project along its banks to increase the creek's drainage to alleviate flooding along its route.
