Sander De Graaf
Sander de Graaf (born 13 June 1995) is a Dutch rower. He won a gold medal at the 2020 European Championships and competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, both in the men's coxless four events. Career De Graaf joined a rowing club during his first year at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2013. He competed in the 2017 World U23 Championships, partnering with Jochem Kostelijk to finish seventh in the coxless pair event. In 2018, he paired with Vincent Klaassens at the World Championships, the World Rowing Cup and the European Championships. They also took a bronze medal at the Dutch national championships. De Graaf transitioned to the coxless four event thereafter. He teamed with Freek Robbers, Jan van der Bij and Nelson Ritsema in the final stage of the 2019 World Rowing Cup in Rotterdam, where they placed seventh. Made, Netherlands
Made is a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Drimmelen, about 10 km northeast of Breda. History The village was first mentioned in 1321 as die Made, and means hay land. Until the 14th century, Made was part of the meadows of Geertruidenberg and was considered part of the city until 1795. The Dutch Reformed church dates from 1512. 2018 World Rowing Championships
The 2018 World Rowing Championships were the World Rowing Championships held at the regatta course in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The event was held from 9 to 16 September. Events held were men and women's open class, lightweight class, and para-rowing. Prior FISA regattas that had been held in Plovdiv include the 1999 and 2012 World Rowing Junior Championships, and the 2011 European Rowing Championships. The 2018 World Rowing Championships were the first world rowing championships where the number of men’s and women’s events was equal. The world governing body made that decision in 2017. Host selection During 2013, Plovdiv and Sarasota, Florida both applied to host the 2017 World Rowing Championships.
