Paul, also named Saul of Tarsus, commonly known as Paul the Apostle and Saint Paul, was a Christian apostle ( AD) who spread the teachings of Jesus in the first-century world. For his contributions towards the New Testament, he is generally regarded as one of the most important figures of the Apostolic Age, and he also founded several Christian communities in Asia Minor and Europe from the mid-40s to the mid-50s AD. The main source of information on Paul's life and works is the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament. Approximately half of its content documents his travels, preaching and miracles. Paul was not one of the Twelve Apostles, and did not know Jesus during his lifetime. San Pablo, Loreto
San Pablo de Loreto is a village, and the location of a leper colony in Peru. The village is located near Iquitos. The colony was constructed in 1925. In 1941, it became an agricultural colony in which the patients had to work the fields. In 1952, Che Guevara and Alberto Granado worked at the colony. The colony was home to around 600 people at the time. By 1957, the number of patients had increased to about 780. The colony was closed for admission from 1967 onwards, and a 1968 report by Dr Masayoshi Itoh described that 87% of the patients were in need of surgical treatment. The leprosium has since then closed, and the patients have been transferred to Iquitos. San Pablo is a district of the San Pedro Department, Paraguay. It includes the village of San Pablo or San Pedro de Ycuamandiyú, which has a population of around 680, located around 330 km from the city of Asuncion. On the river Jejui Guazú, is a small district of just over 4,000 inhabitants engaged in agriculture. Its soil is suitable for agriculture and in a great proportion for livestock, too. San Pablo Guelatao is a town and the seat of the Municipality of Guelatao de Juárez, in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is part of the Ixtlán District in the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca region. Guelatao, as it is often called, is in the foothills of the Sierra de Juárez, a mountain range in the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca System. It is about 55 km north of the city of Oaxaca. The town Guelatao is the birthplace of President Benito Juárez, whose parents were Zapotec peasants. He was the first indigenous president of Mexico. When he was born, Guelatao had a population of fewer than 100 people, and fell under the jurisdiction of the larger neighbouring town of Ixtlán. Juárez was baptised in the parish church at Ixtlán, which is now known as Ixtlán de Juárez in his honour.
