San Luca
San Luca is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Calabria in Italy, located about southwest of Catanzaro and about east of Reggio Calabria. The town is situated on the eastern slopes of the Aspromonte mountains and in the valley of the Bonamico river. The village has long been known as a stronghold of the 'Ndrangheta, a Mafia-type criminal organisation based in Calabria, with an ongoing clan based power struggle dubbed the San Luca feud. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Polsi is located from San Luca. It has long been the 'Ndrangheta's meeting place. History San Luca was founded on October 18, 1592, by Prince Sigismund Loffredo and named after Saint Luke the Evangelist, who became the patron saint of the town. San Luca, Venice
The church of San Luca Evangelista is a church in the sestiere of San Marco in Venice, Italy. A parish church stood at the site since the 11th century, patronized by the patrician Dandolo and Pizzamano families. Restored over the centuries, it underwent major reconstruction in the early 1600s, and was reconsecrated in 1617. The facade is simple, but the interior has a rich decoration. The walls and the ceiling were frescoed by Sebastiano Santi. In the altar in the presbytery is an altarpiece depicting ''The Virgin appears to St. Luke as he writes the Gospel'' by Paolo Veronese. In the right lateral chapel is an altarpiece of ''Virgin and Saints'' by Palma il Giovane. In the second altar to the left, is a painting depicting ''Lorenzo Giustiniani, first Patriarch of Venice, defeating the plague and distributing alms'' by Carlo Loth. The Accademia di San Luca () is an Italian academy of artists in Rome. The establishment of the Accademia de i Pittori e Scultori di Roma was approved by papal brief in 1577, and in 1593 Federico Zuccari became its first ''principe'' or director; the statutes were ratified in 1607. Other founders included Girolamo Muziano and Pietro Olivieri. The Academy was named for Luke the Evangelist, the patron saint of painters. Luca Carboni (born 12 October 1962) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He debuted in 1981 as guitarist in the band Teobaldi Rock, publishing his first solo album in 1984. He is also a painter and carpenter. Career Born in Bologna, in 1976, at the age of 14, Carboni founded the band Teobaldi Rock, with the role of guitarist and songwriter. In 1980 the band took part in the Bologna Rock 80 festival; the following year they released the first and only single, "L.N."/"Odore d'inverno".
