Abdur Rahman Samdani
Abdur Rahman Peshawari (; ; 1886–1925), also known as Abdurrahman Bey (), was a Turkish soldier, journalist and diplomat who was born in Peshawar in British India (now Pakistan). Born into a wealthy family of Kashmiri–Pashtun heritage, he completed his schooling in Peshawar and attended the prestigious Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in Aligarh. A Muslim nationalist, Peshawari left his education and journeyed to Ottoman Turkey in 1912 among a group of volunteer medics from British India to aid Ottoman forces in the Balkan War. At the end of the war, he chose to stay behind in Turkey and joined the Ottoman Army, earning a distinguished military career participating in the First World War. He also briefly worked as a journalist for Anadolu Agency. In 1920, he was appointed by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as Turkey's first envoy to Afghanistan. Rajeeb Samdani (born 28 March 1974) is a Bangladeshi industrialist and art collector. As of 2021, he is the managing director of Golden Harvest Group, a Bangladeshi conglomerate, and the founder and trustee of Samdani Art Foundation which produces the Dhaka Art Summit. He was awarded the Commercially Important Person (CIP) status by the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh in 2022, in recognition of Golden Harvest InfoTech Limited's consistent performance as one of the top exporters in the information technology sector. The Samdani Art Foundation is a private art foundation founded in 2011 in Dhaka, Bangladesh that aims to increase artistic engagement between the art and architecture of Bangladesh and the rest of the world. It is best known for producing the bi-annual Dhaka Art Summit, which is the highest daily visited contemporary art exhibition in the world, welcoming over 477,000 visitors in its fifth edition in February 2020. Khwaja MA Samdani
Khwaja Muhammad Ahmad Samdani (1932 – 11 April 2013) was a Pakistani judge who served on the Lahore High Court bench. Early life and education Samdani was born in 1932 in Kareem Nagar, Hyderabad Deccan, and his family migrated to Pakistan after the partition of India in 1947. After completing his education, he taught at Islamia College Peshawar before joining the civil service and later transitioning to the judiciary. He also pursued an LLM at Yale University on a scholarship. Career In 1972, Samdani was appointed as an additional judge at the Lahore High Court. In 1974, during Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's tenure as Prime Minister, anti-Ahmadiyya violence erupted in Pakistan. Shakeel Ahmed Samdani
Shakeel Ahmed Samdani (21 June 1961 – 8 May 2021) was an Indian academic scholar who served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University. He was an alumnus of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University and the Aligarh Muslim University. He established Sir Syed Awareness Forum and served as its director. He was a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and authored books including ''Uniform Civil Code: Problems and Prospects'', ''Maintenance of Muslim Divorcee'' and ''Understanding Human Rights and Law''. Golam Samdani Quraishy (; 5 April 1929 – 11 October 1991) was a Bangladeshi poet and writer. He was given Independence Day Award posthumously in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and family Golam Samdani Quraishy was born on 5 April 1929 at his mother Altafunnesa's home in the village of Kaurat (presently in Kendua Upazila) in Netrokona, Mymensingh District, Bengal Presidency. Golam Samdani Fakir () is a Bangladeshi academic. He is serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh from 2013 to 2023.
