The following is a list of characters from the television series ''Freaks and Geeks.'' Weirs Lindsay Weir Lindsay Weir—played by Linda Cardellini— is the elder of the two Weir siblings and the protagonist of the series. As a child, Lindsay was close friends with Millie Kentner. Early in her scholastic career at McKinley High School, she would be recognized as a bright and thoughtful student, as well as a brilliant member of the Mathletes. Sammy Weir
Samuel Orville Weir (born March 18, 1941) is an American former college football coach and player. He was the interim head football coach for the University of Central Florida in 1982. He played college football for Arkansas State and professionally for the Houston Oilers and New York Jets of the American Football League (AFL), the Orlando Panthers of the Continental Football League (COFL), and the Houston Texans of the World Football League (WFL). Early life and playing career Weir was born on March 18, 1941, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He attended Walnut Ridge High School. He played college football for Arkansas State as a quarterback and wide receiver from 1960 to 1964. He was also a member of the track and field team where he was named MVP. After going undrafted in the 1965 NFL draft, Weir was signed by the Houston Oilers of the American Football League (AFL). The UCF Knights football team represents the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the sport of American football. The Knights compete in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the American Athletic Conference (The American). Their head coach is Gus Malzahn. The Knights play their home games at the 44,206-seat FBC Mortgage Stadium, which is located on UCF's main campus in Orlando, Florida, United States. UCF first fielded a varsity football team in the fall of 1979 as an NCAA Division III program and subsequently completed their ascension to Division I–A, now known as the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), in 1996, becoming the first program in NCAA history to have played in all four divisions of football (and the only one until James Madison joined FBS in 2022).
