Salle Des Concerts Herz
The Salle des Concerts Herz, usually referred to simply as the Salle Herz, was a concert hall in Paris, located at 48, rue de la Victoire. It was built in 1838 by the French pianist-composer Henri Herz. The hall was used for public performances. Hector Berlioz conducted the premières of two of his compositions there – the overture ''Overtures by Hector Berlioz#Le carnaval romain, Le Carnaval romain'' on 3 February 1844 and ''L'enfance du Christ'' on 10 December 1854. Jacques Offenbach, Offenbach's 'tableau villageois' ''Le trésor à Mathurin'' was performed there 'in concert' on 7 May 1853, and Offenbach himself performed there as a cellist. The first public performance of the saxophone took place there on 3 February 1844. Non-musical events were also held in the hall. An anti-slavery conference was held there on 27 August 1867 by the Anti-Slavery International, British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society. Alexander Östlund
Jan Alexander Östlund (born 2 November 1978), known as Alexander Mezan after his career, is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He began his professional career with AIK in 1995, and went on to play professionally in Portugal, the Netherlands, England, and Denmark before retiring in 2010. He won 22 caps for the Sweden national team between 2003 and 2006 and represented his country at UEFA Euro 2004. Club career Early career Alexander Östlund started his career in the club IFK Österåker in his hometown Åkersberga. At the age of 16 he was drafted for AIK Fotboll, where he played as a striker. Frédéric Ebong-Salle, better known as Fred Salle (born 10 September 1964) is a male retired athlete who specialised in the long jump. He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Biography Salle finished second behind Mike Conley at the 1983 AAA Championships but by virtue of being the highest placed British athlete was considered the British long jump champion. He won the title outright the following year at the 1984 AAA Championships. Salle won the silver medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, representing England. Starting in the 1986–87 indoor season, Salle opted to represent Cameroon (the birthplace of his father). He competed in a high jump meeting in December 1986, jumping a personal best of . His best jump while representing England had been 2.13 metres, achieved in May 1985 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. David Salle (born September 28, 1952; last name pronounced "Sally") is an American Postmodern painter, printmaker, photographer, and stage designer. Salle was born in Norman, Oklahoma, and lives and works in East Hampton, New York. Auguste Sallé (21 October 1820, Paris – 5 May 1896, Paris) was a French traveller and entomologist who specialised in Coleoptera. Following expeditions to the Southern States of the USA, the West Indies, Central America (especially Mexico), and Venezuela on behalf of Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat and accompanied by his mother and a M. Vasselet. He first went to Santo Domingo in 1849, and his collections were sent to Mr. Hugh Cuming. Sallé returned to Paris to set up as a natural history and insect dealer. The business thrived, and he sold specimens to many very wealthy amateur entomologists: Edmond Jean-Baptiste Fleutiaux, Henri Boileau, Neervoort Jacob R. Abraham Salle
Abraham Salle (1670–ca. 1719) was a French Huguenots, Huguenot who emigrated to Colonial Virginia. He was the progenitor of the Salle family in the United States. He was a successful merchant and served in the militia and was a justice of Henrico County, Virginia. Early life Salle was born in 1670 in Saint-Martin-de-Ré, Aunis, France. The Opéra-Comique () is a Paris opera company which was founded around 1714 by some of the popular Théâtre de la foire, theatres of the Parisian fairs. In 1762 the company was merged with – and for a time took the name of – its chief rival, the Comédie-Italienne at the Hôtel de Bourgogne (theatre), Hôtel de Bourgogne.
