Salashka Reka
The Salashka reka () is a river in northwestern Bulgaria, a right tributary of the Archar (river), Archar, itself a right tributary of the Danube. Its length is 27 km. The river takes its source at an altitude of 1,180 m some 700 m northwest of the summit of Zhrebche (1,373 m) in the Sveti Nikola section of the northwestern part of the Balkan Mountains. It flows in general direction northeast throughout the whole course. The river forms a gorge between the villages of Salash, Bulgaria, Salash and Granichak. Its valley then widens and the river flows into the Archar at an altitude of 161 m at the village of Kladorub. Its drainage basin covers a territory of 124 km2, or 34% of the Archar's total. The average annual discharge at the village of Veshtitsa is 0.7 m3/s. The Salashka reka flows entirely in Vidin Province. Balkan Mountains
The Balkan mountain range is located in the eastern part of the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe, Southeastern Europe. It is conventionally taken to begin at the peak of Vrashka Chuka on the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. It then runs for about , first in a south-easterly direction along the border, then eastward across Bulgaria, forming a natural barrier between the northern and southern halves of the country, before finally reaching the Black Sea at Cape Emine. Archar (river)
The Archar (, ) or Archaritsa ( ) is a river in the western Danubian Plain of northwestern Bulgaria and a right tributary of the Danube. It is 59 kilometres in length. Geography The river takes its source at an altitude of 1,060 m, just 200 m east of the summit of Babin Zab (1,107 m) in the northwestern part of the Balkan Mountains. It initially flows eastwards in a forested mountain valley until the village of Rayanovtsi. The river then continues east through limestone terrain, forming a deep canyon-like valley with steep banks, in certain sections up to 100 metres high. In that section it receives its largest tributaries, including the Salashka reka. At the village of Ostrokaptsi the Archar bends to the northeast and at Vartop turns east. Kladorub ( {{IPA, bg, kɫɐdoˈrup}) is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in Vidin region, Dimovo Municipality. Geography Archar river floats near the village. History Kladorub lies upon the remains of an ancient village. The name of that village - Conbustica, is marked on the Roman road map Tabula Peutengiriana as a point, located on the road from Ratiaria (current Archar) to Naisos (current Niš). Vidin Province () is the northwesternmost province of Bulgaria. It borders Serbia to the west and Romania to the northeast, and its administrative centre is the city of Vidin on the Danube river.
