Sahaganj is an urban area of Bandel of Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Ward no 1 of Bansberia covers a part of Sahaganj. It is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Bandel is a city in the Hooghly district of the Indian state of West Bengal. It was founded by Portuguese Empire, Portuguese settlers and falls under the jurisdiction of Chandernagore Police Commissionerate. Hooghly Chinsurah Municipality is the civic body that governs Hugli-Chuchura and its surrounding areas ( Bandel) in Chinsurah subdivision of Hooghly district, West Bengal, India. History Hooghly Chinsurah Municipality was established in 1865. Bandel Junction Railway Station
Bandel Junction railway station (abbreviated as Bandel Jn) is a major junction station of the Kolkata Suburban Railway network, India. It is situated on the Howrah–Bandel–Barddhaman main line in Hooghly district with an approximate distance from Howrah railway station. The station is operated by the Howrah railway division. A 16-line Loco shed and 14-line freight yard is also present. There are seven platforms at Bandel Junction station. However, platform number 6 can accommodate only the 9-coach EMU trains so most of the 9-coach Bandel–Naihati locals depart from that platform. Bandel station is also connected to the Sealdah railway division by the Bandel-Naihati-Sealdah line. Only weekly express trains operate from the station.
