Safran S.A. is a French multinational company that designs, develops and manufactures aircraft engines, rocket engines as well as various aerospace and defense-related equipment or their components. It was formed by a merger between SNECMA and the defense electronics specialist SAGEM in 2005. Safran's acquisition of Zodiac Aerospace in 2018 significantly expanded its aeronautical activities. Mihály Zoltán Sáfrán (born 21 March 1985 in Győr, Hungary) is a Hungarian ex-professional athlete in canoe sprint, fitness coach and health&fitness author. He is a two-times European champion of the 1000 metres race in C-2 and C-4 (2009, 2011), and a World Championship bronze medalist from 2011 in C-4 on the same distance. He has a 6th place from C-2 Canoe Marathon (2007) and C-4 1000m European Championship (2005), 5th place on WCh in C-2 1000m (2009). Two times national champion. Renault Safrane
The Renault Safrane is an executive car (E-segment in Europe) designed and built by the French manufacturer Renault from 1992 until 2000. Throughout its production it remained the most expensive and most luxurious Renault available, although its commercial success was limited, compared to some similar models and also compared to its predecessor. Just over 300,000 Safranes were built, compared to nearly 800,000 Renault 25. It was replaced by the Vel Satis, and to some extent, by the short-lived two-door Avantime. William Safran
William Safran (born 1930) is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. It has been argued that Safran "has contributed substantially to the body of knowledge regarding ethnic politics, nationalism, and related subjects, such as institutional and cultural pluralism, citizenship, immigration, diaspora, national identity, and the politics of language and religion". He is a specialist on France, and much of his research concerns French ethnic politics. Safran was born in Dresden, Germany, to Romanian and Polish immigrant parents. In his youth under the Nazi regime in Germany, he spent a total of more than three years in a ghetto, forced-labour camp and concentration camp. Roald Hoffmann (born Roald Safran; July 18, 1937) is a Polish-American theoretical chemist who won the 1981 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He has also published plays and poetry. He is the Frank H. T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters, Emeritus, at Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York. Naomi Safran-Hon (born 1984 Oxford, UK) is an Israeli artist living and working in Brooklyn. She creates paintings that combine cement, lace, acrylic, and photographs. Biography Naomi Safran-Hon was born in Oxford, England, and grew up in Haifa, Israel. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Brandeis University in 2008, in Studio Art and Art History, and a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Yale University School of Art in 2010. Nadav Safran ( ar, نداف صفران, he, נדב ספרן, August 25, 1925, Cairo – July 5, 2003, State College, PA) was an expert in Arab and Middle East politics and a director of Harvard's Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Life Safran was born in Cairo in 1925 to Joseph and Jeanne (Abadi) Safran, parents of oriental Jewish heritage. He married Anita Balicka on June 9, 1955 and had three daughters — Abigail, Nina, and Elizabeth. Alexandru Șafran
Alexandru Şafran (or Alexandre Safran; 12 September 1910 – 27 July 2006) was a Romanian and, after 1948, Swiss rabbi. As chief rabbi of Romania (1940–1948), he intervened with authorities in the fascist government of Ion Antonescu in an unusually successful attempt to save Jews during the Holocaust. Biography Şafran was born in Bacău, and received his doctorate in philosophy from Vienna University (1933). He briefly succeeded his father as rabbi in Bacău, before becoming the chief rabbi of Romania in 1940, then the youngest chief rabbi in the world. In September 1940 Romania allied to Nazi Germany and, under Nazi influence, had begun to introduce anti-Jewish laws.
