Sacomã Terminal
Sacomã Terminal is a large bus terminal in São Paulo, Brazil. Together with the Mercado, Vila Prudente, and Cidade Tiradentes Terminals it forms the Expresso Tiradentes, a corridor exclusively used by buses. The Sacomã Metro station is located near the complex. Before the opening of the terminal, much of the municipal lines (from SPTrans) had a terminus in Parque Dom Pedro II Terminal, in downtown São Paulo. Ipiranga (district Of São Paulo)
Ipiranga (, from the Tupi (''y'', river; ''pirang'', red) for "red river") is a historical district located in the subprefecture of the same name of São Paulo, Brazil. The name Ipiranga comes from the river (which now is a brook) of the same name located in the region, which means "red river" in a Tupí–Guaraní language. The Independence Park (Parque da Independência), where supposedly the Emperor Pedro I of Brazil proclaimed the independence of Brazil, the Paulista Museum, which exhibits classic architecture and a collection of Brazilian colonial artifacts, and the Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo, are also located in Ipiranga. Expresso Tiradentes
Expresso Tiradentes is the bus rapid transit (BRT) system in São Paulo, Brazil. It is a mid-capacity transportation system that began construction in mid- 1997, under the name of ''Fura-Fila''. During the administration of Mayor Marta Suplicy, in mid- 2001, the name was changed to ''Paulistão''. The current goal of the system is to connect the neighborhood of Sacomã to Parque Dom Pedro II, in order to integrate with other forms of transportation for the residents of the extreme eastern part of the city, mainly Cidade Tiradentes. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. (SPTrans) (English: São Paulo Transport), is the name adopted on March 8, 1995 by the municipal local government which aims to manage the public transport system with buses in São Paulo. Until 1995, it was known as ', which, when translated from Portuguese to English, it is the ''Municipal Public Transport Company''. All bus lines are operated by concessionaires under the supervision of SPTrans, providing business planning and management of public transport. The SPTrans issues work orders for each line of operation, including setting paths, hours of operation, and necessary fleet.
