The SAVE Act is a proposed United States law that would amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require "documentary proof of United States citizenship" to register to vote. Background The bill's stated purpose is to prevent non-citizens from voting in federal elections. Provisions The bill defines "documentary proof of United States citizenship". Valid documents for verifying citizenship include birth certificates, U.S. passports, naturalization paperwork, and enhanced driver's licenses, which are versions of the Real ID that indicate citizenship. Only five of 50 states, namely Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington, currently issue enhanced driver's licenses that indicate citizenship status. The Stop Advertising Victims of Exploitation Act of 2014 (; SAVE Act of 2014) is a bill that would prohibit knowingly benefitting financially from, receiving anything of value from, or distributing advertising that offers a commercial sex act in a manner that violates federal criminal code prohibitions against sex trafficking of children or of any person by force, fraud, or coercion. The bill would make it a felony to post prostitution ads online. The bill was introduced into the United States House of Representatives during the 113th United States Congress. Andrew Kim (born July12, 1982) is an American politician and former diplomat serving as the junior United States senator from New Jersey since 2024. A member of the Democratic Party, he served from 2019 to 2024 as the U.S. representative from New Jersey's 3rd congressional district. Kim worked as a civilian advisor at the United States Department of State in Afghanistan during the Obama administration. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018, defeating incumbent Tom MacArthur. With incumbent senator Bob Menendez facing corruption and bribery charges, Kim announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in September 2023. He won the Democratic primary after successfully petitioning to abolish " county line" primary ballots in New Jersey.
