Ruth Yardeni–Katz
Ruth Yardeni–Katz (August 19, 1943December 18, 2017) was an Israeli author of children's and adult literature and an educator. Biography Yardeni-Katz was born on August 19, 1943, in Jerusalem. After her military service she studied in a beth midrash for youth counsellors in Haifa and completed a course for youth counsellors in Tel Aviv University. In the following years she worked in several informal education facilities and served as the director of arts in the Jerusalem Municipality. Yardeni-Katz married Yossi Katz a professor of theoretical physics at the Hebrew University and had two children. Her son is the chef Michael Katz. Yardeni-Katz started her writing career in 1981 with the book ''The Hero of the Class''. She also wrote stories to several children's magazines such as ''Davar for Kids'' and ''Our Land''. Kavli Prize
The Kavli Prize was established in 2005 as a joint venture of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, and the Kavli Foundation. It honors, supports, and recognizes scientists for outstanding work in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience and neuroscience. Three prizes are awarded every second year. Yaron Golan
Yaron Golan ( he, ירון גולן; April 26, 1949 – January 23, 2007) was an Israeli publisher. Yaron Golan, originally a literature columnist in ''Haaretz'', established a publishing company in 1990. While refusing to submit to conventional rules of publishing only popular or profitable books, he used to take on himself to publish every book submitted to him, publishing over 1000 books, often at a personal loss. However he still was the publisher of many important works, including anthologies by Nathan Zach and Avot Yeshurun.
