''Russian Roulette'' is the third Korean extended play by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. It was released on September 7, 2016, by SM Entertainment. The album is the group's second 'Red' and 'Velvet' album, after releasing ''Ice Cream Cake'' in 2015. The EP consists of seven tracks, including the lead single "Russian Roulette". Background and release Despite earlier reports of Red Velvet having a summer comeback, SM Entertainment announced that the group would release a new album in September. Member and leader Irene talked about the difficulties the group faced while preparing for the album on the September 9 broadcast of the radio show ''Super Junior's Kiss the Radio'' and stated that it was "physically and mentally tiring as the comeback date kept getting postponed". SM Rookies (, stylized in all caps as SMROOKIES) is a pre-debut training team created by South Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment in 2013, composed of trainees who have yet to join an idol group. ''M Countdown'' () is a South Korean music program broadcast by Mnet from the CJ E&M Center Studio in Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul. It features appearances by popular music artists who also perform live on stage. First hosted by Leeteuk, Shindong, and Kangin of Super Junior, the show has had various celebrity emcees through the years. Tropical house, also known as trop house, is a subgenre of house music, and a derivation of tropical music, with elements of dancehall and Balearic house. Maja Keuc (born 16 January 1992), also known as Amaya, is a Slovenian singer. She represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
