Russia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Russian Woman", written by Manizha Sanghin, Ori Avni, and Ori Kaplan, and performed by Manizha herself. Russia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 in Dublin, Ireland. The Russian broadcaster Channel One Russia, Russian Public Television (ORT) internally selected Philipp Kirkorov with the song "Kolybelnaya dlya vulkana", written by Ilya Bershadskiy and Ilya Resnik, to represent the nation. Prior to Kirkorov's selection, ORT organised a public selection process to select the Russian entrant. While the event did take place, the jury could not decide on the winner of selection and ultimately opted to choose the artist internally. Cream Soda is a Russian electronic music group that was founded in 2012 by Dmitry Nova and Ilya Gadaev, who collaborated on a series of Drum and Bass and Dubstep productions after meeting online.
